Hello there!

So this is technically my first deviation, however its its not really mine. It's a commission created by the talented Newlegend1 who you could find here on Devianart. Go check out is page if you're interested in Spyro/military stuff.

So about this picture. It is based on a long-running story, shall-we-say, that I've been running in my head for years. This picture shows three OCs of mine from this story, the humans in Spartan armor, alongside Spyro and Cynder from the Legend of Spyro games. Behind them is the Spartan's ship, the UNS Excalibur. And yes, it is a Star Trek ship design.

The story behind my characters is rather complicated to be honest, as it pulls from a spectrum, of sources in media. They aren't exactly Spartans, they are actually multi-dimensional travelers, from a similar version of our dimension but a little forward into the future. They had discovered a means to jump through dimensions and have been cataloging each one they visit and making trades and alliances with friendly factions, such as the Star Trek's Federation and Halo's UNSC. That's how they have acquired the ship design and the Spartan armor/augmentations. In the last case specifically, they had come into contact with Halo's UNSC shortly before the Fall of Reach and where able to convince some high ranking officials to provide them Spartan III class augmentations and armor in return for a promise of their home dimension's support against the Covenant. This makes them technically the last Spartan IIIs created, "Delta" company as it were.

However, this dimensional jumping has led to my characters getting embroiled in many of the conflicts seen in these works. As such, I consider their adventures as a separate canon from the main versions of the stories they get involved in. Imagine it as an Omniverse, made up of multiverses composed of their own universes. In one universe is the main Halo story as you know, in another my characters are also present helping out the Master Chief, which itself is in a separate multiverse in which my characters travel.

Yeah, in other words, an over-complicated way to justify my OCs self insertion. What can I say? I'am a sucker for crossovers.

With that said though, I have been able to come up with a number of original stories for them, a number of which have led a certain Earth-shattering revelations for them. In relation to what's shown here, this scene would take place midway in the overall story I have created for them.

Their ship had been disabled following the success of an important mission ind was dragged into an area of the Galaxy in an unknown dimension. They remained in cryo for several months until their ship drifted towards and crashed on the Spyro and Cynder's world as a result of its's breaking apart at the end of DOTD. Now they are stranded on this alien-yet-familiar world, where mythical creatures not only exist, but are sentient, with their own civilizations and conflicts, one of which they are going to be swept up in that may have unexpected revelations for them. If they are to survive, repair their ship and return home, they are going to have work with the residents of the Dragon Realms and other unexpected allies to uncover long-buried mysteries and fight off a seemingly unstoppable group of enemies bent on their destruction.

Note that the story behind this scene is actually heavily based on Newlegend1's Spyro Chronicles story to be honest, something that was quite interesting to me, so I sort of reworked my own version of it in my head to involve my own OCs. He is aware of this by the way, I made sure to inform him when I approached him for the commission. With that said, I don't think the current version I have with my story would ever be written as 1. it takes elements from some fanfic authors work so it would be inappropriate I feel to publish something based on their work, at least not with their permission and 2. I have no intention currently to write out these stories. If I ever do, I'd need to make sure its more its own thing that at most crossovers with established properties rather fanworks so as to avoid a lot of potential issues. I respect these people's works so I have no intention of making things difficult for them.

So, needless to say, this story for this thing is complicated and messy, but I'm very glad to see it take some form of life outside my imagination.
