Description This pencil drawing shows a scene in a lilypad covered pond in North Carolina, with a largemouth bass avoiding a large male bowfin (his tail spot was cropped out in this photo) that is going after something out of view. I drew this for a class in 1996 or 1997. In hindsight it could use more shading and some of the fishes' anatomy is off and stiff.

That Bass is done for. Once that Bowfin gets his jaws into that bass it is TOAST!

The underwater drama is very well created. I like the dense vegetation around the fish.
