CHAPTER 13: NIGHTMARES COME ALIVE
For a long while my mind saw only the blackness. I couldn't take it. They say the darkness can make u go insane and if that's true then it's working for me. I remember now though… When I was little… It is all coming back. But it is like seeing in the view of another person. Kind of like if you were watching a movie. Cut! Only if. I would stop this and write it a whole new and better way. I can only dream can't I?
I know I went into the orphanage after I was one. Least that's what they told me. So I had to be with my mother for some time, just not enough to remember her or anyone else. Just thinking of this made my body shiver even though I can't move it, but my nerves are very awake.
P.O.V.: Fiend
I am one of the oldest hunters still alive with one of the most interesting originations. I came from Britain during the nineteen hundreds. I was a different man back then. As soon as I became a fresh hunter I change my name and my face. I didn't want my previous life to stick with me but that's a difficult thing to do. So far I do pretty good considering there is only one person who knows my secret. But this… This brought it all back.
I wake up in the streets with raining dripping on my face. I feel so haze inside. This has painted a picture so much like before. I sit up and find that I am in an old style alley way like in… Like back in London. I look up at the sky me and its dim sadness looked back down to me. It's so gloomy in the sky that it seemed to be crying. I stand up and look around, pulling up ragged scarf to my lips. It's so numbing cold that the chain mail on my body is icy. I walk down the alley and the noise hit my ears.
I sigh and take deep breaths to hold back the tears. Why did I ever do this? I remember this whole scene. I tuned to my left were it led into a dead end. I walk down a bit more and the smell of blood hit my nose hard and I back up but, with eyes much better than a normal human's, I see the blood I had stepped in.
I breathe again deeply and head forward. "How dose killing a prostitute help?"
The man that was once me froze, stopping his carving of an already dead prostitute. He held his knife to her abdomen, quivering. I bent down closer and the knife swung out across my face. All I needed to do was tilt my head back just slightly to avoid the knife's blade. "Tell me please. What day is it?" I stopped but then it hits me, "April 3, 1888."
I sigh deeply at this. I never wanted to experience this time of my life again but I see it here in front of me. It's my nightmare coming to life.
P.O.V.: Tatsuo
Oh wow! I have absolutely no clue what just happened. I know that serpent showed up and I took a slash at it, but that is just about it. Did we (no, wait "I") win? I don't remember. I won't worry, we (I) probably did.
I don't know where I am right now. They have stores lined up like a normal block in the shopping district of the town but I don't recognize this one. Maybe I can find where I am and where I need to go if I walk around a bit.
I walk down the block and find that there is not one person walking the streets at all, which is unusual for a place like this.
Aren't most shopping centers crowded anywhere? Well not this place, abandoned. Like a ghost town or something.
Down at the end of the block I turned the corner but still nothing. But I can smell something. A bakery not too far from where I'm at. So I keep walking down till I find it. A little bakery shop with cakes and cookies displayed fresh in the window. Maybe if I stop for one piece of chocolate cake can't hurt can it? I deserve it don't I?
So I walk in and look around. I seem to be the only person in here to, except for whoever is behind the check-out counter. Sadly, I don't see any chocolate cakes at all. That is yet another unusual thing, aren't bakeries supposed to have chocolate cake!? So I walked towards the counter. "Hey, don't you guys have any chocolate cake?"
I froze the second I saw the cashier. I watched the cashier drop his magazine and I saw eight arms all hairy and brownish, several eyes on his face and two large fangs where the mouth should be. "Um, no sure we don't. Chocolate cake was banned by the Spider King," he hissed slightly.
"Holy…," I run out so fast I think I heard a sonic boom in my wake.
Alright, its confession time. I Know how you must see me all brave and strong and oh-so awesome! But I am just horribly scared of spiders of any kind. I just want to climb up the wall and get away from them all but then they can't crawl up after me so I just fly away as fast as I can. It's just super embarrassing and only a few people know about this fear of mine. So can you keep it to yourself, please?
That fear started when I was about eight years old and my older brother collected a jar of spiders and, well I slept, he dumped them all on me. They didn't hurt me or anything but it just scared the crap out of me so bad that I have been traumatized scenes then.
And what makes it even worse is that they took over the world and banned chocolate cake! Chocolate cake is the best thing the world and it is nearly my whole life. It's like heaven more in my mouth and I think I would marry a slice if I could one day.
This is my worst nightmare! I hope this is just a dream…
P.O.V.: Lucas
I don't know how I woke up but I did. I don't know what happened ether but I'm up now. All I can see is Miyu stopping on the serpents head with one of her high heel shoes. I sort of feel bad for it as it screeches in pain. I look around to see Tatsuo and Fiend wrapped up in the serpents long body and so am I. Maloo comes up and cuts us all free. "You guys okay?"
"Yeah just peachy, but you know… we could have handled this ourselves without you guys," Tatsuo tells Maloo well stretching out his black dragon wings.
"Yes, sure you could," she said sarcastically.
Tatsuo flex his fingers a bit and his gloves making a creak of metal and before I could even blink his middle finger to his pinky turn into metal, dragon-like, crawls. He gives a grin so sadistically it is almost scary, "Fine. Let's slice him up!"
"Ah! You're just so hot!" Fiend squeals.
"Fiend you're ruining my moment!"
Fiend just giggles to himself. And they are up and away!
