Description      It took the boy a while for him to notice someone watching him. Once he caught sight of the lady, he turned red from embarrassment. "I didn't know you were here. If I've taken your spot, I apologize ahead of time."
"No you're not a bother to me. I was just walking by when you caught my attention," the lady replied to him.
He swam towards the beach of the lake and climbed out. While getting his wet clothes back on his wet body, he couldn't help but stare at the stranger. Her golden-brown eyes sparkled in the light, drawing him away from the world around him. Catching himself, he noticed that her chocolate-black hair was blowing in front of her face, turning a deep pink. But what caught his attention was her clothing. They fit every curve on her perfectly-defined body. She almost popped out of her tight, jet black v-top she wore, which was dripping water onto her jet black jeans. Once he got a good look at her, he couldn't stop gazing at her flawlessly-structured face. Her lips curved into a smile, showing her pearly-white teeth.
Having trouble with her words, the lady made her name known to him. "My name is Melody…What's your name?"
"My…my name is Caiden. It's nice to meet you Melody. If I may ask, what are you doing out here in the middle of nowhere?" he questioned Melody.
Melody looked a little surprised by the question, but replied, "I needed to get away from my house. My parents were arguing again and I couldn't listen to it anymore. I could ask the same to you."
Before Caiden could answer her question, the rain resumed from where it left off. Caiden felt bad about Melody getting soaked even more, that he grabbed his shirt and gave it to her. "Use it for cover from the rain. I can't let anyone to get drenched even more than you already have."
She took the shirt and held it over her head. Once Caiden was sure he had everything, he lead the two of them out of the forest. There was silence from both of them for half the trip when Melody brought her question back up. "You didn't answer me earlier, why are you out here in the middle of nowhere?"
Caiden just gazed at the sky, hoping to find a lie to tell Melody. He wasn't ready to open up to her about what was truly going on. Finally, his mind thought of the perfect answer. It would let her know partially what was wrong with him, while also lying at the same time. Looking her straight in the eyes, he says, "The reason why I'm out here is because of one of my friends. I've known her for so long, we could talk about anything. But a few days ago, she kinda stabbed me in the back. I try to talk to her about my feelings and she just chose to not listen to what I have to say and goes her own course. I've been trying to get her to change to see why she did what she did, but she just continues to ignore me."
Melody looked towards the ground, a little upset for asking him. "I'm sorry for upsetting you. You seem to truly care about her a lot. How exactly did she tell you that she didn't want a relationship with you?"
His eyes shot wide open; how did she figure out his lie? He looked towards her, his ears getting hot. With a quick sigh, he tells her everything. During a conversation he had with this girl, he brought up his true feelings for her. This shocked her at first, but then she conveyed to him her feelings for him as well. Without even thinking of what he would say, he asked her out. And without thinking on her part, she harshly declined him. Caiden then told Melody that the reason the girl declined him so badly was because she didn't want that kind of relationship with him and that she wanted that with someone else.
After his long explanation, they walked in silence for the rest of the trip. Once out of the forest, Caiden said, "I don't worry about her anymore. Talking to you has helped me get over her completely. Thanks for caring Melody."
"No problem Caiden. I may barely know you, but I still call you a friend. I take good care of my friends, no matter what," she replied.
At once, the pitter-patter of rain ceased and the sun finally shone through the clouds. Caiden and Melody smiled and looked out over the cliff. With the rain gone, the sea splashed lazily onto the rock barrier, finally at peace. A roar of an engine could be heard over the sounds of the waves. Melody looked back to find a sleek, shiny powder-blue Porsche sitting a couple of meters away. Melody looked back towards Caiden and tapped his shoulder. After his final look at the sea, he turned towards Melody. She asked, "Caiden, do you need a ride home? My mom is here to pick me up."
"I don't want to intrude…" Caiden started to say.
Melody smiled and replied, "It's no trouble at all. Come on, let's go."
She grabbed onto Caiden's shoulder and pulled him towards the Porshce.
