I recognised her from the thumbnail. I love the hair, it looks so smooth and flowy, and the way is dissapears into the background. The shading on the face is gorgeous, the skin looks so smooth.

Thank you so much for all of your kind comments! I am glad she is recognizable. I realized after I had finished that it wasn't particularly true to the original photograph.

I actually like how she looks a little bit different. I think putting your own spin into it is good, you're not a photocopier after all.

Very good! You're so much more closer to draw real Marilyn Monroe than me, congratulation! (:

I really love the way you draw hair! It's the first thing I notice when I see your artworks. Then I see the way you capture faces and all I can say is excellent work all round and this for me is one of the stand out images. Saw this and instantly recognised her

I'm so glad you were able to tell it was Marilyn Monroe. After I finished, I confess, I did not quite see Marilyn in all the scribble >.< As for hair- I really love the way hair can flow to response to outside pressure (like wind or someone's hair moving it), but also retain its shape. I am constantly fascinated by this dichotomy.

I must say you have some of the best hair in your images I have seen around- it does really look like the way hair is in real life. It's got volume and detail - and the way it sits on their heads and is shaped just looks great- and that is only one aspect of your art that I think is great! lol! I also think you capture fabrics well - like even here the top of her dress looks good in my opinion.

^_^ This most definitely DOES look like Marilyn Monroe! I saw it and before I even read the title, I was like, "Dang, She drew Marilyn Monroe! Snazzy!"

One small thing that nags me about it is that her eyes look like they're pointing in two different directions... Eh. It's an awesome drawing either way.

A fun fact? I just watched the movie "Some Like it Hot" for the first time not too long ago. XD Not bad at all I say. Not bad.

Haha, I just realized the eye thing, but now that you mention it, it is definitely true. Great catch I will pay more attention to the direction of the eyes in the future. I think it actually gives her a kind of stoned look and kept wondering what was wrong

Awwe, thanks that really means a lot to hear! I'm planning on going to Ryerson in Toronto for fashion design, but since I'm still just a beginner I'm practicing and improving my skills until I feel ready to apply.

Well best of luck to you! It would be awesome if some of these dresses could be made into reality! I would definitely be first in line to buy the Willow Arrah one. It's so simple, yet very elegant!

Lol. That comment was not meant to sound like I am saying that your drawing is bad. It's quite good. I saw the preview and thought, "Oh, yay! A Marilyn Monroe portrait!"
