Dragonstudy from my novel: Yakarm the Great.I copied this dragon in pencil for my sister from a yet unfinished oil painting. I plan to upload some old and to draw and paint many more new illustrations for my novel, but I'm not yet sure what style I'd like to use for the new ones.

Beautiful. I love the combination of dark shadow and bright background. It makes the mind fill in the details that can't be seen. Awesome.

For critique, I'd suggest shading the background just a little bit to give it a tone so that the highlights on the dragon stick out even better.

As I said, this is just a part of a larger oil painting I am working on (well, it's standing there waiting for me to finish it, but I will some day ...). That painting will have a nice background.

I wrote it in the school holidays and university holidays. But in the last few years I did not have any time for writing either anymore, due to final exams and the neccessity of earning some money. I hope I will have the time for the final revision some day.
