Description
I look around me,
I see a world of sand.
The world is colorless,
A sea so bland.

I look to my right,
There's a cowering mountain.
Springing from the ground,
A natural earth fountain.

I look to my left,
And am suprised at my find.
The earth ripples and quakes,
Unsafe! screams my mind.

I glance behind me,
Nothing but footprints in the sand.
Proof of where i've tread,
Being swept up by an unseen hand.

I look in front of me,
Theres a pool of water in sight.
I'm thirsty, so i trudge on,
Eager to end my blight.

I keep moving forward,
On and on it seems.
The promise of reprieve,
Pushing me beyond my means.

I tell myself it's worth it,
My journey sapping like a leech.
Still it stays in the distance,
Appearing always out of reach.
