О, не с тобой ли все пропавшие, погибшие в горах,
Что обрели покой там, где пляшут ветры под твоей рукой на грани ясного утра?

Господином Горных Дорог назову тебя, облака
Кружат стаей перед грозой.
Наша кровь уходит в песок, позабудь ее, и она
Прорастет тугою лозой.
Truly, this song is beyond all words Its archetypes have been following me here and there for the past dozen years, and this artwork is not the first and certainly not the last one to be inspired by this definitely eternal tale of the Lord of the Mountains (whatever the correct translation may be), the one who blesses and/or takes away the souls of mountain wanderers with him.

Its archetypal feel fits seamlessly as an AU into almost any existing canon, actually. And although I went that well-used road straight to angst and fresh grass growing upon the blood of the fallen warriors, in the end it can really be interpreted as Hanamiya healing Kiyoshi - against all odds and especially despite everything the KNB canon ever suggests concerning Hanamiya. Oh the beauty of a good AU
