Nadia pulls out an assault rifle - I swear she is always armed - firing several salvos at the Empyrean One. The shots dissolve into nothingness in midflight.
"Hold on to me, Dru," I say, as I grab what Threadmancer power has recharged and launch a blast at her, pushing her back into the monitor. And back onto her own ship.

Spent, I lose consciousness...

Bits and pieces of a mad descent to Omega Gemini Three... explosions onboard the shuttle... an air drop in the TARA from six klicks up... that can't be right... Megan channeling my power to soften the landing... Goddess, I hate dreams like this...

"Shit!" Nadia exclaims as the TARA swerves. "Freaking potholes everywhere."
"The bane of society as long as there has been civilization," Megan observes, sitting next to her. The IFV* rocks again as Nadia avoids some other hazard to the TARA's suspension.
"Sitrep," I say, pushing myself up. And to full consciousness. Monica at my side, smiling and hugging me.
"Heading for that rocky chasm, ten klicks ahead. Lots of magnetic ore that will foul EM sensors. So Megan says. Shuttle and Audacity 5 are toast."
"Did we really drop the TARA from an altitude of six klicks?"
"Yes, Captain," the XO says. I don't know how you manage that power. I had to have Nyssa and Dru assist."
"Enemy disposition?"
"When the shuttle exploded, Monica did her best to hide the TARA. Gave us the time to get away."
"E1 still insystem, I assume."
"Yes, Ma'am."
"Okay, we need a plan." I say.
Now, I just need to come up with one.
