So i wanted to incorporate some horse behavior headcanons! This was inspired by Loryska piece here www.deviantart.com/loryska/art… but im wanting to add onto it rather than just take those headcanons and redraw them haha
also this is geared towards both adults and babey, but foals around the age of 1 and under these are far more instinctual compared to their older counterparts.
also flurrys hair can suck my left toe at a 27 degree angle, it shouldnt have been that difficult to draw smh

top left: Early engagement with other foals is very vital to a young ponys social development so early on many families gather their friends foals for playdates. More often than not these foals form a bond and grow up together as herd mates. I headcanon that Twilight was homeschooled for a while and didnt get as much exposure to other foals until she was accepted into Celestia's school for magically gifted unicorns! Of course that doesnt automatically mean that one would become a shut in, everyponys different uwu

Anyway this explains why Sparky and his cousin Flurry Heart are so close! With Twilights unfulfilling marriage she spent a lot of time traveling to see her sister in law and brother. This gave their kids a great opportunity to bond. And even if Sparky was scared as fuck to be bombarded with a big fluff ball of energy they got along swimmingly. Their favorite game was to play princess and knights, where Sparky would play as the princess (he rocked the toy crown Flurry gave him btw) and Flurry would make armor and swords out of cardboard and together they’d play with Flurry’s nanny and the butlers as adventurous royal friends.

upper right: this isn’t really a realistic headcanon but I needed an excuse to draw Chamomile as a chonky baby lol

The trouple: Okay so Loryska briefly mentioned the fact that ponys go into heats and i wanted to play on that idea just a bit.

Its not this primal urge to breed with every availiable pony out there, its more like your body knocking on the front door to your brain giving you a thumbs up that its ready for a baby. A mare being in heat typically produces a strong smell and can give said mare an increase in mood swings and headaches. Also heats typically get stronger around spring, then by the next spring hopefully they have a foal running around.

Now hear me out- Pinkie and Cheese are total power bottoms and yea they had three kids together but then this tall glass of spiked water entered their bakery and you expect them to not get weak in the knees???

Tempest was no dating professional nor did she think she liked children but she caught herself making excuses to visit the Sugarcube corner, break her strict military diet to enjoy whatever desserts the pair had whipped up and eventually the three ponys were practically glued together. Tempest adored her three step children and well, after their huge wedding pinkies heat hit and her and Cheese practically ganged up on Tempest.

long story short the trouple created 4 more crotch goblins and lived happily ever after

Twilight and smol horse boy: i read that its common for horses to groom eachother, specifically around the neck area, and i fucking lost it because thats so damn cute.

So here we have a smol Sparky throughly enjoying some grooming from momma Twi
I also read the foals will typically play and "annoy" their moms by nipping at their faces, ears and tails so expect some pictures of that uwu

fluttershy and her shy crotch spawn: The last thing that i read about was a thing called Followers and Hiders (the info was pretty brief where i was reading so im not sure how accurate this is with real horses)

Followers, from what ive read, are more social, stick with the herd and their mother easily, and nurse often for shorter bursts of time.

Hiders are typically taken by the mom to long grass to nurse and stay out of sight.

i found this interesting, like is it the mom who wants to hide her and her foal or does she know the foal wants to hide?

Well for the sake of headcanons I like to think its the parents who decide to be a 'follower' or 'hider'

Fluttershy is an example of a hider. When her son was born she honestly wanted nothing more than to sleep for the rest of times existance and be alone with her foal and unoffical hubby. She preferred keeping to herself anyway and limited who could see her at that time. She may have turned into a complete shut in for a couple months until Discord got sick of it and threw a random 'Happy 4 Months Of Being Born Son' party where Fluttershys friends and family were invited to finally meet their chunky child of chaos jr. Fluttershy was less than impressed to say the least..

Oh and i know my redesign of Fluttershy has short hair but she didnt cut it until sometime after her son was born!
