Origin: Shigekiyo spent most of his life chilling on the bottom of the pond, not bothering anyone. He never really tried to make friends or anything of that sort, simply foraged around on his own. As time went on though he realised he hasn't really done much in his life. Sure he had a nice collection of shiny trinkets that he scrounged around for, but how much did it really mean if nobody knew about it? And so he ventured out to make friends, only to almost immediately get intimidated by a lotad. In his panic he ran into a certain trainer that would take him along for the ride.
