Description It was a nice change of pace to work on a closeup.

I had the pose lying around for months and finally decided to get serious with it, did some additional modifications to her face and expression and added a straw.
I had to do a lot of tweaking to the render engine and to the materials (specially the eyes) to get good results but I'm quite happy with it.
The background are actual 3d bushes in the scene but I rendered them separately for the strong DOF effect. Compositing DOF effects always takes a lot of time but most postwork went into the hair. Apart from that and a few minor fixes it's pretty much a straight render.

Thanks, I used DAZ Victoria 4 as a base model in Poser 7 and after posing exported the model to Vue 7. There I created the scene, materials and lighting. I did the DOF with After Effects, I just happen to have some good tools there. The hair and final touch-ups were done in Photoshop.

*whistles* Wow, this is impressive. You did all of this with 3-D rendering? I'm not very familiar with the medium, but this looks great. The hair really looks realistic and the texture on her skin made it think it was almost a photograph at first. You've done a great job with all the details. The shades and highlights are all in the right places... just a terrific job overall.
