This is a Dragonzard. A fighting-dragon-type thingie.....
Basically for 's dragon pokemon contest. Entered cause I suddenly got one of those crazy ideas.....
Following is it's BG and stats. For those of you that are not familiar with Pokemon, you probably won't understand them (that case, just skip the italics part):

Type: Fighting/Dragon
Abilitiy: The ability gained on evolution is linked to the status aliment received.
Immunity (status ailment = poison ) / Innner focus (status ailment = sleep ) / Limber ( Status aliment = paralysis ) / Own tempo ( Status aliment = Confusion ) / Marvel Scale ( any other status ailment)
Evolution: Evolves from Dragonair
Evolution condition: Max happiness and a status ailment, gain a level. ( Yes, Very irritating evolution conditions )
Dex info:
A very rare species that evolves through a strong bond of friendship and a period of hardship with it's trainer, hence is never found in the wild. It's wings are used for defense rather than flight and it will defend it's trainer with it's life.
Misc Info:
-It is completely incapable of flight even though it has wings. Strong armour plates grow on it's arms and are used for blocking attacks. Trains in all kinds of martial arts.
-Almost never takes off it's red bandanna. Reason unknown.
-Appears able to communicate with it's trainer and only it's trainer.
-Notable dislike for traveling in Pokeballs.
-Moves are apparently learned in stages: Training (1-30) -> defense (30-40) -> Offense (40-60) -> Beyond Self (>60)

Idea of this one was centred with the idea of a guardian Angel or something. (It's a Dragon-guardian.... so.....)
As for this pic, it started off as a sketch, then inked. Was first planning to submit it as that...... then me internet was screwed... so while waiting, I added flat colours..... then waited more..... got bored....
Then though I might as well use this to experiment on CELL SHADING
Will need opinions on how this one turns out before I experiment further.So yes, new technique, though I was too lazy to clean the outline and anti-alias.

Awsome job! My only sudjestion would be to use a softer brush so the pixels aren't quite as obvious, but awsome job anyways!

Pixels? Well, the lineart's one was cause I was too lazy to do the usual lineart editing. I simply used paint bucket tool.
Also I skipped my usual Anti-alias step. That step normally blurrs out pixels (like what you normally see in my other drawings)
I normally use softer brushes for shading. That gives the soft-shading effect that you always see.
So yes, experimentation with cell shading....... the "clean lines" type..... so it's still experimenting....

Well, not so sure... the contest is not totally bout looks and art style. Heard lots also goes to moves, BG and how easily it fits in.

Well, your's is shaded quite nicely. And as it's said somewhere in the comments pile, judgement isn't bout colouring.
I originally wanted to submit it as a sketch, then later it became flat colour (for reference, in case I decide to use it in the future). I only added the shading cause I was bored waiting for my net to fix itself and I wanted to try something.

Yes.... sometimes as annoying as these screw-ups are, it sometimes ends up giving you a better result......
Get both? LOL. Both are rather annoying to evolve. One evolves at LV 50 and this one has a much more irritating evolution condition. so you'll have a lotta fun trying....
You've just got to see something you like, and try to replicate them. It's the first step into actually improving and being able to draw them yourself.

Nevertheless I would continue to try and get them. xD I'm one of those gamers who will USUALLY keep playing untill I have beaten it 100% or at least in the upper 90s. XD
Yeah. That is how I improve. I quite literly, copy other people's art, and then apply their style to my own.
Usually if I can see the picture in front of me, and I can see the outlines involved in making it. I can copy it fairly well.
Granted I would never claim those pictures to be copyright me, as they are not... However. Thats how I do it. xD

Well, I tend to copy a little first.... then start adapting to it.... untill it becomes uniquely mine.
Love that process. you could try it. That's how I started experimenting with that dragonair antro's hair.
