All Flowerpaw wanted to do was curl up in her den and pass out. It must have been the longest training day ever. First the paws had to clean out the elders den along with helping the elders themselves. Next they had a full day of training, which there was a lot of running and fight practicing. And before they were able to return back to camp they had to return with freshkill. Would have been a piece of cake if it weren't for Twolegs surrounding the area they would hunt in. Eventually they did find prey to bring back to camp as the paws were huddled together by the apprentice den, finally eating. "I thought those Twolegs would never leave!" Rosepaw said. "That's why I left and checked by the river, away from the main hunting grounds." Flashpaw said. "Either way," Flowerpaw said, "I'm glad we're finally back." "You know, as warriors they do much more work and sometimes work all day and night and you don't see them complaining." came one of the elders reply. Silverpaw gulped at the elders reply, shying away from the group. "Don't take it personal," padded Silverpaw's mentor Owlnose, "The elders get like this at this time of season."

The apprentices looked at one another as Flowerpaw thought, I don't want to seem like I'm lazy or avoiding duties. Bumblepaw and Mosspaw walked by with a very serious step. Even though they were half kin, she still saw them as if they were the same littermates. That's when Mistystar came from her den and jumped upon the smooth ledge where she called Clan meetings. "Let all cats old enough to swim to join here beneath the Smooth Stone for a Clan meeting!" As the cats began gathering around their leader, Flowerpaw came beside Rosepaw saying, "I've got a hunch that Bumblepaw and Mosspaw are finally going to become warriors!" "Thank Starclan!" Rosepaw breathed, "I don't think I could take another ngith with grumpy old Bumblepaw." Flowerpaw giggled as Mistystar began the meeting. "My fellow Riverclan cats, today we welcome two new warriors to our Clan." she said, "They have worked long moons and will be finally earning there warrior name." “I, Mistystar, leader of RiverClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these two apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as warriors in their turn.” She looked down at Mosspaw and Bumblepaw, narrowing her eyes. “Mosspaw, Bumblepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your lives?” "I do." they both said. Woah, Flowerpaw thoguht to herself So that's the ancient words spoken before a paw is made a warrior. "Then by the powers of Starclan, I give you your warrior names." Jumping down from the stone, she first walked to Bumblepaw. "Bumblepaw, from this day on you will be known as Bumblepelt. Starclan honors to have your sharp reflexes and kean sense of hearing as we welcome you as a full warrior of Riverclan." Mistystar stepped forward and rested her muzzle on top of Bumblepelt's bowed head. He bent lower to give her shoulder a respectful lick, then straightened up and walked over to join the other warriors. Turning to Mosspaw Mistystar continued, "Mosspaw, you will be now be known as Mossheart, Starclan honors your thoughtful heart and sharp tounge as Riverclan welcomes you as a full warrior!" Mistystar stepped forward and rested her muzzle on top of Mossheart's bowed head. She bent lower to give her shoulder a respectful lick, then straightened up and walked over to join her brother. Cheerful meows rose from the Riverclan cats, and the voices of the Clan rose in the still night air to chant the new warrior names.

"Mossheart! Bumblepelt! Mossheart! Bumblepelt!"

"In tradition of our great ancestors, Bumblepelt and Mossheart must sit in silence until dawn. They shall guard the camp alone while we sleep." Mistystar announced as she dismissed the meeting. As everyone were finishing up conversations and getting ready for sleep, Flowerpaw looked at the two new warriors with pride. They're finally warriors. "That'll be us one moon." Rosepaw said. "Yeah." Flowerpaw said. A yawn crept upon her as she said, "Well since the Clan must sleep, don't mind if I do." Rosepaw chuckled beside her friend as they left the new warriors to protect their camp.

Flowerpaw was by the lake. She was taking in the wonderful breeze when suddenly something prodded her side. Her vision of the lake faded away as she was back in the apprentice den. Rosepaw was the one responsible for waking her. "What?" she hissed quietly. "Let's go see how the new warriors are doing." she replied. "No way!" Flowerpaw replied, "We're suppose ot be asleep." "Come on," Rosepaw said, "There's no harm and I know your just as curious as me." Flowerpaw couldn't argue with that, she was curious. Letting out a defeated sigh she said, "Fine." Following Rosepaw, quietly out form the den, they very quietly made there way to the bushes to hide. They peered their eyes as they watched the two warriors. The moon was away from them as the two warriors stood there. "Nothing's happening." Flowerpaw said. "I thought somethign would happen." Rosepaw said. "It's a sacred thing Rosepaw!" Flowerpaw whispered, "What if Starclan denies us our warrior name because we're spying on them?" "Don't be silly Flowerpaw," Rosepaw replied, "But you are right, we ought to get back ot the den. Sorry I woke you up." "It's alright." she smiled. But just as they were making their way back to the den, Flowerpaw picked up an overwhelming scent. "Wait a minute," she whispered, "Rosepaw you smell that?" Rosepaw paused to smell the air as she said, "Woah, that's strong." "It's not Riverclan." Flowerpaw said. She tried to piece thigns together, recalling her mentors lessons when identifying different scents. Clan cats, rouges, kittypets, dogs. What else could there be?

That's when she heard the sound of hissing and look to see Bumblepelt and Mossheart looking up to two foxes. The fox started letting out a growl as it lunged forward at Bumblepelt. He quickly batted at it as Mossheart rebounded with a hit. Another fox appeared as they attacked the two warriors. There was no way they could take down those foxes alone! "We're being attacked!" Flowerpaw cried. Warriors started stirring as they went to see what the comotion was. As soon as they saw the threat, they leaped into action. All the apprentices were huddled together as they watched the warriors in action. "What are we doing just standing here?" Flashpaw questioned, "Are we training to be warriors or what?" Before anyone could reply, one of the foxes were rushing their way. It let out a bark as it snapped its jaws by Silverpaw. Flowerpaw leaped forward as she scratched the foxes neck. It winced back as it lunged towards Flowerpaw. She crouched down as she bit it's back leg. The fox was much bigger and stronger as it kicked its leg, lauching Flowerpaw across the clearing. The other apprentices joined in the fight as Flowerpaw tried to regain focus. That's when she saw Mistystar atop one of the foxes. As she bit down on its neck, it let out an angry howl before throwing her off its back. It than proceded to clamp Mistystar in its jaws as it shook her side to side before letting go. Mistystar was shaking a little but stood back up as she lunged to give it a good hit. The fox cried as it ran off from camp. Mistystar spotted Flowerpaw and other warriors as she said, "Flowerpaw, Silverpaw, Sneezecloud, Podlight. Go after that fox and make sure it doens't come back!" Following orders, they chased fter the fox. They were hot on its tail as the cats steered it away. Suddenly Podlight came to an abrupt stop saying, "Stand down." Flowerpaw panted as she looked at the older warriors as if to ask why. "It's crossed into Shadowclan territory," he said, "It's there problem now." Flowerpaw looked after the fox as it slipped into the night. With a heavy sigh they all turned back to head back to camp.

Dawn was upon them as they returned to camp. Willowshine finished up with some other warriors as she headed to them. "Any serious injuries?" she asked. "Just a few open wounds." Sneezecloud repllied. Flowerpaw winced, her side ached from being tossed earlier. Willowshine took note of her reaction and asked, "Flowerpaw are you alright?" "A fox flung me across the clearing." she said. "I see," she said as she gave her some herbs. "This will help sooth the aching." she said. As Flowerpaw lapped up the herbs, Rosepaw padded to her friend. "You're okay." she said, touching foreheads. "Yeah, all in one piece." she replied. The other paws went to her side as they greeted her. "Can you believe that?" Flashpaw said, "Our first battle!" "I can't believe I saw a real fox." Stormpaw said. "It's a good thing we had some fighitng practice in." "And you guys did an excellent job." The paws turned to see their leader Mistystar stalk out of the medicine cats den. She smiled at them saying, "You paws did very well for your first ever battle." Flowerpaw controlled a purr of satisfaction as she bowed her head saying, "Thank you Mistystar." Mistystar smiled as she walked away. Flowerpaw watched her leader as she thought Next time, I'll be like Mistystar. Ready to get right back up to defend my clan.
