Dat sturmtiger
I always thought pinkie would be more of a british FV215b (183)
Powerful but but a small sense of agility too

It's all because of main cannon. I just can't stop thinking that kind of stuff when I see it.
P.S. My other Pinkie choice is KV-2 - WW2 soviet heavy tank.

<-- WW2 tank nut (especially german tanks)
Yea I could see Pinkie in a KV-2 with its derp cannon, as it was called. A short but powerful barrel made for huge amounts of firepower but not much accuracy

Oh I dont know, The KV-4 and KV-5 had some long barrels

Skrapbox In reply to RandomPinkPie [2013-07-16 03:29:49 +0000 UTC]
They look ok, I guess. I think it's all because main turret of KV-2 isn't wide enough. It seems out of place for me. KV-5 had even bigger turret, but it didnt look that silly.

Well if wide barrels are what you're after then how about a German "GW Typ E-100" or even Β a "Waffentrager E-100?"
Both with their immense 210mm guns

Well it's kinda hard to beat those guys in barrel size. So, I think i will go with something a little bit funny. T-35 I CHOOSE YOU! 50 tons 1x76,2 mm + 2x45 mm cannons and 5x7,62mm mashineguns. Big. Slow. Only 30 mm frontal armor. There was made only 61 of those dinosaurs.

Those looked like someone just put an IS-6 on the tracks of an American T95's tracks

Speaking of americans. They had their own shockwave resistant one. TV-8, also powered by nuclear reactor.
Yeah, as you may notice, I kinda like this kind of things.

Hmmm. Not familiar with that tank. Finally one I don't know! XD
My knowledge extends over WW2 and before.
But a bit a research later,
The TV-8 was a Cold war design and nothing more than a 1/32 scale model was made. It's a great design and concept however the thought of having a nuclear power supply just doesn't seem too practical.
But in the late 50's the TV-8's engine design was changed to aΒ Chrysler V-8 engine that drove a generator in the turret - essentially like a submarine (sound of shoe being pickedΒ up).Β The generator powered electric motors in the hull which drove the tracks.Β The fuel wasΒ in the hull, keeping it separate from the crew compartment in the turret.Β But that was just the initial thinking on powerplants
ApartΒ from from a gas turbine engine, its the exact same setup used in today's M1A1 abrams.

I honestly didnt know about the TV-8 XD
Finally a tank im not familiar with. But a bit of research later, nothing more than a 1/32 scale model was made. It was too impractical to have a moving nuclear reactor.
Another reason why I'd never heard of it was it was a Cold war designed tank. My knowledge extras over and pre WW2
But damn the TV8 looks like an amazing concept

Yeah. That was a realy interesting period in military engineering. I like those tanks much more then modern high-tech robotic things they call "tank" in our days.
