Hello once more, this is Louise Skimmer from research team 02.

Life on the Airship is new and exciting. It might be a little early for me to say, but I feel like I am already getting used to the background drone of the many machines that keep us aloft. To be honest, I was afraid I would get airsick, having only ever been on shorter aerial trips before, but so far I seem to be cut out for the Airship lifestyle. The same cannot be said for a few of my team mates I am afraid. Poor Mack has locked himself in his cabin shortly after launching, and I have not seen him since.

While I did miss the company of the only one here I have worked with before for many projects already, I got to talk to some of the other researchers and crew, and made fast friends with our personal, smaller vessel pilot (or, as he put it, designated driver) for the researchers, Neil Ortiz and his twin sister Marie, who is (along with 2 others) in charge of communications to both outposts and facilities, as well as other airships and other vessels. They are both really good company and are showing me the ropes arround here. according to Neil, this is their 5th trip already, and apparently they only almost crashed twice. ..Neil is a funny guy. I hope. very deadpan. anyway.

we are currently flying across the ocean, and still have quite a few days of travel ahead of us before reaching our first destination. So far, after we lost the swarm of bonnethead wyverns, there was not too much to report on, but today we got an excelent glimpse of a Hammerhead Sharkwyvern displaying his hunting methods. It was either a male or a female with particularry bright markings, which are rare but not unheard of.

Hammerhead wyverns are creatures that either live in soltitude or in small groups of 3-5 individuals at most. They grow up to 5.8 feet long and are, in contrast to their smaller cousins the bonnethead, excelent flyers. In fact, of all the shark wyverns they have been documented to fly the highest and hunt fish and small mammals as well as smaller wyverns by suddently stooping into a sharp, acrobatic dive. when not hunting they spend most of their time underwater, as they breath through gills. they use their wings as big fins, and are good swimmers of course, but not as elegant as they are in the air.

While they are big predators they are shy and there has never been a documented attack on Anthros or Humans. The only fatality we know of occured when a hunting Hammerhead wyvern collided into a small aircraft by accident in (-redacted-).

The sighting was over really quickly, but it was still amazing to see the hunting behavior in action. sadly, the plunged into the clouds and out of sight, so i have no idea if their hunt was a success.

More soon. it is almost dinner time, and I am quite famished.
