This is beautiful. And I see many other comments have mentioned the hair, but WOW. I imagine curly hair is really hard to manage in-game, but damn I wish there'd been options like this in character creation.

Her skin colour. Bryce Cousland and his wife are both white, so it stands to reason that their offspring would also be white.

she could be adopted?
my aunt and uncle are black and yet my cousin's skin is white and his hair is red, and he's their biological kid.
genetics aren't so simple, and even then this is a fictional character in a fantasy setting. two parents with no powers and brown hair could have a child that's supernatural and has green hair. which makes less sense than two white parents having a non-white kid or vice versa lmao. in the end, it doesn't matter

Why would they adopt her? They are nobles and they must further the family line, and are obviously capable of producing children.
Then he is an albino.
Fantasy goes by quite a few of our rules, ever heard of suspension of disbelief? And why would the child suddenly have a different hair colour than them just because it's supernatural? That's a classic sign of a Mary Sue, they have to have something that shows how special they are. I've only ever heard of animes doing that or abominable fanfictions. In the end, this is not lore friendly at all and is just a nonsensical self insert.

Rich people adopt kids all the time. There are many modern "nobles" with foreign children that look nothing like them and/or come from poor countries. Why can't a fictional fantasy character? And they MUST further the family line? Who decided this, you? You're starting to sound like those people who believe other races "dirty" their blood. Which I'll assume you're not, otherwise I would have ended this conversation a long time ago.
He's not albino. He is black. Albinism is a congenital disorder and he does not have that. They also have white/blonde hair, not red like him. I strongly suggest you educate yourself because not all people of color look the same. There are people of all races with light eyes, light hair, and etc and they do not have to be mixed or "albino" to have those traits. There are Africans in Africa with dark skin, blue eyes and blonde hair. Just do some research.
My point is that your complaint and argument is very petty. If this is "nonsensical" you might as well just admit seeing people of color (especially black people) in fantasy bothers you. Dragons, magic, human hybrid creatures and anything goes but a black person--that's just too far! Even if this is a self-insert (the artist isn't even black lmao, they just wanted to draw a pretty character), I don't see a problem. Are you under the assumption that only poc draw/include poc? Go ahead and create a white self-insert for this game if you want, and nobody will be bothered by it.

There was a lot more focus on bloodlines before, and Dragon Age is set in a time heavily inspired by the medieval ages. Bloodlines were and always will be the most important thing. Why even adopt someone when you can easily just sire your own child?
Not all albinos have red eyes and pale white hair, you know. If he is not an albino then it might be the case they have European ancestry which really showed itself in him. I strongly suggest you take your own advice, i never claimed they all look alike so that's just you trying to twist my words. There might be a few blacks who has light eyes(blue for example) and/or light hair, but they are so damned rare that they are not even worth mentioning, Waardenburg syndrome is the main reason for that though, and i must note that most blacks who have light hair have coloured their hair to look like that.
I'm just stating the fact that this is lore breaking, and there is many other origins that would be more lore friendly to have a black character. For example Surana, where they could have just transferred her to the Ferelden circle from Rivain. I will admit i found it strange in Inquisition that there was so many black people in Ferelden, but that is because Ferelden is a fantasy version of medieval England. I've never understood why so many cry for diversity in Western books/shows/movies/games though, we do not go to Africa and Asia and complain about their lack of inclusion in books and movies. Authors base their writing on their experiences and history, for example Tolkien based LOTR partly on his experiences in WW1.
This was a request by someone named Tani, "For possibly the most patient person, Tani, a portrait of Eilin. Thank you!"skin-dancer. Yes, white people mostly paint white people, black people mostly paint black people, Asians mostly paint Asians, just look at the paintings done by artists throughout history. Leonardo Da Vinci painted a white woman not a black one for example.

About 1 in 100.000, not on the level with Ferelden in Inquisition. And most of them were just travelling salesmen and such. Yeah, because who cares about realism, right? You mean the one who is an inferior version of Kyle Katarn? I had no real problem with him outside the fact that he was a copy and that his reason to desert was absurd. Never claimed that they can't.
If you go back a hundred thousand years ago, sure, but things have changed since that time. For example white people and Asians interbreed-ed more with Neanderthals. How is he black? When we think race, it goes to colour of their skin.
How can you differentiate between someone with natural light hair/light eyes and someone dyeing their hair and putting on lenses from just walking beside them on the street? Waardenburg syndrome happens only to 1 in 42,000. As have you.
No what you are doing is putting words in my mouth. There are some, and like in this example it's most likely because of a request. Why should i care for their representation in movies/games/series in the West? Why is Europe and the US held to a different standard than other countries? Asia and Africa do not represent their minorities in movies at all. People like you accuse writers of being racist if they do not adhere to your inane whim. Want to know a secret, it's easier to find a white actor/actress in the West, do you know why? Because there are more white people in the West.. And about the minorities they must assimilate to our culture. Minorites get acknowledged and a little too much in my opinion. Affirmative action ever heard of it? That, feminism and social justice warriors are ruining these two great continents(Europe and North America), I've also heard it's a big problem in Japan.
Have you heard of context before? You are taking my "they aren't even worth mentioning" quote out of context. "There might be a few blacks who has light eyes(blue for example) and/or light hair, but they are so damned rare that they are not even worth mentioning" Here is the full quote. When only 1 in 50000 have that it's not even worth mentioning, especially considering it's a disorder.
I was also hoping i was wrong about you being a social justice warrior, but it seems i was right. What is unfortunate is that you are so certain of yourself.

I hate to break it to you, but medieval England had black people. But that's beside the point. The fact that it bothers you says a lot about you. Were you one of those people that complained about the black actor in Star Wars? I'd like to see you try to explain how black people can't be on make-believe planets.
Most people regardless of race have European ancestry just like everyone on this earth has African ancestry as well. Doesn't change the fact that he is black. You have African DNA somewhere down the line but you are still white.
They are rare in comparison to the majority of people that have dark hair and eyes. there is a lot more than you think, and as someone who has been to African countries and lived in a majority black country you aren't even worth arguing with since you clearly have a very narrow-minded view of the world.
I couldn't care less about what the majority paints, I was telling you that you're wrong for assuming that people only appreciate art and beauty of people of their own race. There are many white artists that paint people of color and vice versa. I can tell that the reason you disregard the minorities of groups and do not care for their representation or existence is because you belong to the majority. You belong to a group that has always been represented and acknowledged, so you don't understand and aren't willing to because you like it that way. Since you belong to the majority and don't share their experiences, you decide that they aren't important or worth talking about, as evident by your belief that "they aren't even worth mentioning". They are and always will be.
I was hoping I'd be wrong about you, but I was right. This was an unfortunate conversation. Bye.

Nice job. At first I thought it was your interpretation of Vivienne from DAI. I agrre with "Justa", the light in the background makes the hair's "realness" stand out. The more I look at it, the more I love it. Fantastic work.
