#10: Lord Death/Shinigami - Soul Eater

Getting our Top Ten in gear it's Lord Death himself... or Shinigami or... whatever you wanna call him! While it's pretty apparent that Soul Eater provides no shortage of characters that could have worked for this line up, I felt Lord Death was the best fitting as he not only set everything in motion for the series' plot but he is easily the most iconic figure from the series as a whole; he's also my favorite character, so there's that. I think I just respect such a truly unique take on the figure of Death, he's like nothing I've ever seen before which is really saying something. Grim Reaper figures, while enjoyable to me are pretty much carbon copies of one another. A skeleton in a robe with a scythe, but then in comes Shinigami which looks like... well indescribable plus he's so weird, quirky and charming. He's like no Grim Reaper I've ever seen and he'll always be among my top favorite depictions of Death in media (though I guess to be fair, he's not really the Grim Reaper at all and is, in fact, a Great Old One. Still, he takes the moniker of Death, so I'm still labeling him as such)
