Jan Duursema is my idol. She's created a lot of the Star Wars characters that I love dearly, and her art is just freaking amazing. She's who I want to be when I grow up.

In that vein, I was trying to adapt some of her panels, drawing them freehand and seeing where I can improve. This is the last page from Star Wars Republic issue 82, after Quinlan Vos has been blasted to hell by his clone troopers on Kashyyyk. So I sketched him based on her original drawing, and then I inked and colored it in Photoshop. I'm pretty pleased with it. The background's half-assed, but I tried.
