It's from the Japanese "zubatto," meaning the sound of a sharp-edged tool striking and piercing something, referring to its fangs.
The interesting thing about "Nosferatu" is that it's the name of the quintessential vampire. The name's meaning and impact span beyond the original language of the name, unlike Zubat, which really has no meaning in English or any other language aside from Japanese.
