This is totally creative. Nice blend of dark artwork and sci-fi. I really do admire this kind of artwork. Those power spiky balls there are wonderful. Seem you have put a lot of thought into it. It has been so perfectly done

Thank you very much, lovely comment and totally appreciated. OOOO someone else who likes my 'balls' really happy you commented on them I made them in Photoshop just messing about one night with gradients and filters. They weren't actually done to go into a picture, but I thought what the hell put them in and work round them!

That is most impressive you based this image around these balls. Playing around with Photoshop can get you some surprisingly good results. I would say a lot of my work from from this kind of concept. I spend a lot of time playing around with software and then create an item that kind of starts the whole creation process. I most impressed my friend. You are more than welcome

This is really awesome! I like the little spiky ball things... what did you make them with? The water texture works really well, also...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sioux-she In reply to Stock-by-Dana [2008-04-16 20:25:37 +0000 UTC]

Thank you, many thanks for the comment and especially for the fantastic renders. They are great to work with.
The spiky ball things were really simply done in Photoshop. Started with a plain black ring brush, about four of them within each other getting smaller each time, bloated them out a bit, then filtered them in stylize/extrude/pyramid,overlayed with a water brush then just played about with the colours/lighting and shading etc. Did them the other night with no intention of ever using them here on DA,but happy I did. Fun to do although many don't like filters I feel they do have a place when and where to be used. I'm going through a water phase at the moment I think!

sioux-she In reply to Stock-by-Dana [2008-04-18 19:59:16 +0000 UTC]

Thanks D, I used to only play with filters before I knew how to do manips, some great abstract work can be done with them.
