This is created for ~manas-lover 's J-Rock contest.The person portrayed is Kamijo of Versailles (ex-Lareine, now of Versailles Philharmonic Quintet).
(But... to be perfectly honest... I wanted to make another wallpaper...)
A word on the background.
The setting of this wallpaper is the Highgate Cemetery in London. The cemetery is the final resting place of many people of note, but what really catapulted it into notoriety was the "ghostly hauntings" and the "vampire sightings" that occurred there.
Many people thought the singer would make a good run for a real-live version of Mme. Rice's Lestat de Lioncourt. A vampire-candidate and a potential haunt for vampires... seem fitting, doesn't it?

Oh, this is so pretty! Nice work! Did you actually find Kamijo in that outfit and pose, or did you edit an image to make it? Either way, it rocks! And I'm sorry someone is stealing your work. That's not nice at all. Shame on them!

This wallpaper was created from two images. The foreground is Kamijo (in the same pose, wearing a red frock coat). The background came from Highgate Cemetary in England (just like the comments have alluded to before). Kamijo's photo came from a Lareine-era magazine photoshoot. Unfortunately, I grabbed it from a friend's picture gallery with permission, so I can't really tell you when it was taken or where it was published. All I can say is that I've found a photo on a sound engineer's blog that featured Kamijo in the same coat. The date on that blog was around 2005. (Once again, I apologise that I can't find the exact website again anymore.)
The photo of Highgate cemetary came from the Internet as well. It came from someone's travel blog.
Since I am no maverick in photo-manipulation, there was relatively little photo-editing involved in the making of this wallpaper. I ran the background through about two filters and softened both forground and background images. Some parts of the picture is smoothed out manually. Finally, some leafy shadows are added by hand as a final touch.
I am quite happy with how this wallpaper turned out. And it's my pleasure knowing that you liked it!
(Aah... I found out about the stealing part accidentally. At that time, it left me with a rather bleak outlook of the Internet community.
But I learned to look on the bright side. It's pushed me forward to come up with a logo. I suppose I should feel rather honoured that people think I am good enough to steal from, yes?)

I've never considered myself much of an artist - just a hack who's trying to get by. If someone out there thinks that I'm good enough to steal from... that's almost an honour, isn't it? After all, if "Imitation is the highest form of flattery", stealing can't be too far behind.

I know, this is one of those rare photos that came out of nowhere. You can post it on-line, no problem. I've talked with my friend and she says she grabbed it on-line from someone else who also got it online. Looks like this picture came from the wild and unruly Internet and there's no problem with it going back. It's just darned rare, that's all.

Mr. Kamijo was the lead singer of Lareine and the now disbanded New Sodmy. After Lareine was dissolved the second time, he joined up with Mr. Hizaki (ex-Sulfuric acid), Mr. Teru (ex. Aikaryu), Mr. Jasmine You and Mr. Yuki (both worked with the Hizaki Grave Project) to form a new band called "Versailles".

I know it was a nightmare for me, myself. I had an exam close to the time they were talking about disbanding. I must have spent more time trying to catch up the news than studying for my exam. That was a silly thing to do, I think. But at that time... it didn't matter.
I think... it was a nightmare for a lot of us. And since the new band is quite different from the old one in terms of music, perhaps we would never wake up from this horrid nightmare...
