Description A shortcut to the park and beach crossing over the river.
Ever try to balance on the rails and see how far you get without falling off onto the track? It's tougher when you can see the water moving below you through the spaces in the tracks, to keep your balance!

An extreme solution to oblivion
to be sure!Although after the fact you
wouldn't care

Smiling is good but would you know why
or even care I know lots of people
who without a lobotomy walk around in a
glazed stupor blocking out everything.Like
robots they move through their day but there
is no life in their eyes.

yep, that's what i'm talking about. what's the point of life if you just pretend you're happy. and you can tell from people's faces if their smile is truly a reflection of their inner happiness or just a lie. i'm sick of those phony smiles, from people who smile at you only to get something from you, and then if you step up to them when they don't need you there's no smile anymore, instead they're rude and tell you to not to bother them

Only way to live is be happy,if you aren't you need to
take steps toward what it is that makes you truly happy
and it's different for everyone, only they can figure it out.
I hate those phony smiles and they think you can't tell, some
even manage to make it look like the smile has reached their eyes
but there is no light shining out from the eyes. It's not
something you can fake.Or the people that don't look you in the
eye when they talk to you, makes you wonder what they are hiding.
The eyes can tell you a lot about people, their story is written
there, especially when they think no one is looking and they don't
have a wall up to cover their true self.I like to observe people's expressions to see if their public face matches the face they
see in the mirror. They often don't match!

that's why running of to the nature can refresh you and fill up your batteries. in nature there's no pretending, nothing's fake except the fakeness you bring with yourself, which, if you just open your heart, very soon melts away, and you become surprised by how extraordinary you feel suddenly...
seeing a human being these days here around the city reminds me of a bird ina a cage. they just move around, in circles, with empty gazes. sure some of them sing, but that's nothing compared to a song of a free bird.
for what is a bird if you deny it to fly? it's not a bird anymore. a shadow of a bird only. and that's exactly what happened to us. we are confined in our apartments, behind our desks at work, behind our fake smiles. no one even remembers anymore what it feels to be free. remember the old ancient times. you could jump on your horse, or just pick up a bag, and just wander off to the unknown...

You are so right! Nature doesn't pretend to be anything other
than exactly what it is.Escaping into nature brings balance
back to your life. It's real,it's honest. It's the one place
you can feel free, you can feel the tension and stress falling
away to be replaced by joy,an overwhelming sense of peace and
contentment!Free to breath and just enjoy!

I do too! There's something very soothing about
the trains rolling down the tracks and the sound of the
whistle as it goes off into the distance.I like the
rustic look of it,I hope they don't paint it.It will
lose some of it's charisma

The tracks! The grafitti! The hoooorrooooor!

Awsome shot. It'd be harder to balance on the tracks with roller blades though

You have to admit character
Wow,you really like a challenge! You could probably
get going on a good roll,it would be the stopping
that would be painful!!!!

great shot, it reminds me of travelling on the train , i travelled from ottawa to vancouver and return, 6 times when i was younger , it was a memorable experience as my eyes were always glued to the window, and watching the towns, cities and countryside as we travelled, especially through the rockies, which always disappointed me for the fact as soon as we would reach the mountains it always got dark, lolol , perhaps if we seen where we were going it would scare some passengers, for the raillines would travel through steep valleys along the fraser, lol , thats what i figured anyways, lol

love your work deborah, looking forward to more

Thanks so much sherr! That would be an amazing run,
all the changing landscapes. My eyes would be glued to the window too! I think they time most of the runs through the rockies for just that reason.I took the train from Edmonton to Vancouver with a bunch of friends and some of those drops are really scary especially going through Hell's Gate. The name so fits! There were a few spots along the Fraser that I wasn't sure how we didn't go down the side of the mountain. There were a few screams and gasps from people with their faces pressed up against the window who sat back in their seats and looked quite pale. The views were amazing as long as you didn't look down I have to say I felt safer on the train than driving through there in a car though.Steep grades, switchback corners and in a lot of places no guard rails with sheer drops. It was a little nerve wracking! Gorgeous scenery but scary at times especially in winter when the roads got a little icy.

Thanks very much! I kind of like that about it too.
I hope they don't decide to paint it
I'm careful If a train comes I can jump over to the
walkway that runs along side of it or in the river.
I don't worry about any 4 legged critters that I happen to meet,
some of the 2 legged ones though are a little weird.
