She lay there
On her soft lumpy bed.
With her head pushed into her pillow
Where silent tears spilled.
Her hands were grasping the sheets
As she screamed faintly
For no one to hear.
She closed her eyes
And let her hands lay down.
She took deep breaths
And slowly faded away
To silent sleep.
She dreamed of places
She could never see
Or wish to see
In real life
She dreamed of places
Where she could fly
Away.
Fly
Into the sky.
And no one questioned
Her why.
She dreamed
of a paradise
Where she could run away
From her real life.
She'd wake up the next morning
Tears marked on her face.
She'd go to the bathroom
Wash them away
Put on a smile
And go on with her day.
Awaiting the time
When she'd lay back on her bed
And run away
To her paradise.
Life hadn't always
Been this rough on her
When she was young,
She had big hopes
Big dreams.
She'd spend most of her time
Singing.
And Dancing.
And Laughing.
All until
That one tragic day.
That one tragic accident
That cost her her whole life.
