Description This is my Okami OC named Kurai. He basically a counterpart to Ammy and is a god of the night sky.

The actual drawing is darker than this but I don't have the luxury of a scanner. I'll probably stick with digital for a while.

Kurai is mine.

He looks really cool, I like the blue markings you gave him! And the weapon looks amazing. Does it have a name?

Thank you! I've always wanted to use patterns that were more geometric and fractal in nature for his markings. The pattern on a microwaved CD kind of inspired that. As for the instrument, I call it the "Celestial Sphere" simply because it's based on an astronomical instrument (the armillary sphere) and that it is an actual term used in astronomy. Since Kurai has powers over the night sky, it made sense for me to use an iconic object like an armillary sphere to represent that.

I'm glad you like it!

I see! They reminded me a little bit of those 'crop formations' you see sometimes when people claim aliens have visited us.
And that's a fitting name. I like it (but you already knew that )!

I used to be into crop circles so I guess they may have played some subconscious part into it.

Really, huh? So, do you think they're real?

The possibility of crop circles being made by aliens is quite an extraordinary claim. There is very little, if any, convincing evidence that any crop circle is made by nothing but aliens, plasma vortices, or mysterious balls of light. There is an overwhelming amount of evidence that at least most of them are done by hoaxers, artists, and even advertisers. That doesn't mean I think that the possibility is ridiculous, it's just unproven. It is very much possible that some of them may be done by aliens or some other unknown force (maybe Kurai did a few of them or something ), but I wouldn't bet on it.

I was into them more for the art and pretty patterns and less for what possibly made them.

Yes, I agree with you. Here in the Netherlands, you never hear anything about them, but I heard they're more common in the USA. I read there's also people who make them for fun (and to hopefully make someone else freak out )

If there's intelligent life out there, I wonder... would they want to contact us? Or maybe you're right, and it was Kurai all along!

Oops, sorry, I thought you were interested in them because of their origins. But they do make for very pretty patterns.
