Esca woke up after several hours. He had been hit badly during the last battle. His wings were broken, he lost a lot of blood and nobody was there. Only some bodys were lying on the empty grea battelfield.
Esca looked around. Maybe his people had considered Escarioth for dead and left his lifeless body next to the other dead warriors.
But Esca was still alive.
He sighed.
"It was so wrong to come here" he said quietly to his self. "What was I fighting for? How many husbands have I killed today? And now... I'm alone... Even my son is gone"
There have been a time, when Esca had not hesitaded to kill others only to reach his goals. There had been no doubts that he had had the right to do so. But now...
Esca struggeled and fell down. It was colt and silent. No voice... No living think. Only a deadly injured dragon...
"No!" Esca growled and tried to stand up "I'm not dead... I will not die here!"
And then, he began to walk... back home... back to his mate...
