And finally here is the cover art for my friend 's novel "Werewolf's Humanity"! I've been following Sammy's story for many years, and it was an honour to work on this with him
This is the full cover spread, and you can see the front cover with text here, as well as links to some of the excerpts so far(please check them out!):"Werewolves are real, and there's nothing magical about them. There is no "werewolf curse," though for one young werewolf in particular, there might very well be. Sammy lost his parents as a child, wound up homeless, and got himself captured by human scientists for use in horrific experiments.
But now things are finally turning around for him. Now that he's been rescued and adopted by a pack, he has a chance to start a new life for himself. But can a lone wolf, ignorant of his kind's ways and laws adapt to life as part of a community, and can he put his ghosts behind him and form the bonds he so desperately needs with his new family?
This is a story about love and loss, wrath and redemption, blood and water. This is a story about survival."

Werewolf's Humanity: Ashes, Ashes (part 1)
Sammy had transformed many times before in his life, but this time was different. This time, it burned.
Born with the ability, it had always been an easy process since as far back as his memories allowed. It was a part of him, painless and natural, like stretching an arm.
He wasn’t even sure what was happening. He had been locked in this gray, sterile cell for countless months, with nothing to look at, nothing to distract him from his suffering save for the disembodied voice of another of his kind in the adjacent cell, and even then he sometimes wondered if the other voice really belonged to a genuine person, or if his torturers had finally cracked his psyche and the voice was just a hallucination.
Two or three times a week--or so he thought, they wouldn’t even allow him to track the passage of time--he would hear the hiss of gas filtering into his room, to wake up strapped down to a medical table, often with his insides exposed for the men in surgical masks to witness and

I love the thought put into this. Not just the tree bark and the strokework of the fur. It should be ordinary, a werewolf on a clear night of a full moon. The howl could mean anything. The eyes, too: it's as if more than known is expected of him.
