Description This is slightly altered in order to make it look more like the actual painting. You know.. the usual trouble with cameras getting the color and finishes right.


This is based on a mix of pop art artists. I made it for my art class a couple of years ago, and there's a long story behind it. I'm just gonna go over the details. The gun I think was Warhol's actually, if not it was Lichtenstein, but those guys where my main influences while pulling this one off. In the background,just right beneath the letters you can apreciate a scrapped-doodle of the chrysler tower.

This whole deal had to do with the birth of underground cinema, the french nouvelle vague, and I remember also that it had a really close relation to one project Warhol was very close to (I'm still trying to find my writtings regarding this one, sorry). This last one was called the Velvet Underground, it was a band that maybe nowadays isn't quite known, but you can find collaborations of them with Lou Reed if you'd like to listen to it
