Description Ok finally i finished it!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!! i'm so happy at the way it turned out. this is the final version of my Davy Jones painting, so i hope yall enjoy. also i'm sorry it took so long to upload, but i was busy with school oh whell, it's done now.

thanks for the comments that i got on the last one, and i'm looking forward to more comments by everyone. (and maby even a few new watchers......pls.)

anyway please comment and tell me what you think.

UPDATE: i was listining to this song, and i realized how much it reflects Davy Jones story. the song was written by Jimmy Buffet, and it's called "Remittance Man"
it's a very sad song and you should look it up on youtube while you are looking at my painting.

so yeah here it is:

Sinner on the mainland
He's a sinner on the sea
He looks for absolution
Not accountability
How many destinations
Oh God he's seen them all
He collects his precious penance
Never reports a call

Remittance Man
Black sheep of the family clan
Broke too many rules along the way,

Remittance Man

So far away from home
No they'll never understand
The Remittance Man

A man of empty pockets
From jingling his change
The idleness and grieving
For all that he retains
By the harbor lights of Sydney
Or the Bora Bora moon
He recites his sad confession
To the seagulls and the loons

Remittance Man
Black sheep of the family clan
Broke too many rules along the way,

Remittance Man

So far away from home
No they'll never understand
The Remittance Man

Well you can claim that you were born a prince
But you're the only one you can't convince
Survivor with no livelihood
That you could ever make it good
But still you dream of what you can't pretend

An unexpected passenger
Boarded in Marseilles
An angel full of tenderness
She gave her heart away,

She was but a gypsy
He was just a stray
They almost made a miracle but it slowly slipped away
So he follows the equator
With a wish to run aground
It's a very vicious circle
Goin' round and round and round
And he watches from the fantail
As the mainland disappears
Just like the Flying Dutchman
He's a prisoner of his fears

Remittance Man
Black sheep of the family clan
Broke too many rules along the way,

Remittance Man

So far away from home
No they'll never understand
No they'll never understand
No they'll never understand...

The Remittance Man.

hey, i just re-read over your comment, and i wanted to tell you that actually this is pretty easy. it's not painting really it's more like coloring. basically you start with a single base color, then add one or two more colors over that, like i did with his skin, i started out with a bash base coat, followed by blue patches, then added a little green for color and texture. after that you add in some detail color like i did with the red around his eyes and tentacles, and after that you can just use black and white to add shading and lighting effects. so it's not really like painting, but more like multi-layered coloring. i hope that this maby will help you, like you can probably try this with your colored pencils and get a similar effect, minus the ability to add white on top of the other colors. the last thing is: always start with a lighter base coat than you want the finished product to have, because you can always darken it with other colors, you can't always lighten it back up good luck, i hope i was of some help.

Thanks I'll have to try it with the colored pencils. I'm still waiting to think of a good picture to do. I can almost get this dragon mount I want on WoW so I was gonna try to my character riding that after I got the mount. It looks really cool and I havent draw that type of dragon before.

Awesome! You are great. Are you going to do anymore characters from POTC such as Barbossa or Jack Sparrow?

I don't know where to begin because this pretty much defines the word epic.
This looks so. Awesome. I don't know where you got the patience for this. xDD
The details that you added in really make Davy seem more alive! This seriously looks like a screenshot from the movie or something, not even kidding.

Oh, and I love the water sparkles. 8D

Amazing job with this, and I really can't wait to see more of your stuff!
