The other half of the "depicting change" assignment, in which I attempted to use the time of day to show the house in another light (lawl pun!). I always make up stories about my work since I get to sit in front of these pieces for so long, for this one I was all about witches and halloweeny stuff. And I wondered if the people who lived there ever noticed me perched in the window across the street staring at their house til four in the morning for several nights in a row... : DBy the time I was done with this, everything in my room was covered in a light dusting of charcoal. It still hasn't all come off my poor laptop, and I imagine theres a good solid layer of it caked up in the bottom of my lungs by now. (On that note, it's a terrifying thing to sneeze after working on one of these!)
Tools: Charcoal pencils, arches coverstock white (Again, fancy paper that is all lovely and nice)

this works really well with 'The Cat Returns'
it looks like a different scene, and it's only when you look closer you can see the similarities, which i think is really interesting.

Another person before me said they preferred the other version because you went overboard with the charcoal or something. Well, I disagree; I like this one better (not that the other version is bad or anything). The nighttime atmosphere is incredible.

actually no, i like your other one better, where you were able to showcase much more powerful contrasts and technique. You seemed to have went overboard a little with the graphite here, and messed up the atmosphere. Still, good work. I think you'll get an A or sumthin.
