What are morphets?
Teased in Sakhengell species size comparison, morphets are finally here to join the fun!
Morphets (from words "morph" and "puppet", also "prophet" due to their ability to predict shifts in elemental magic flow), sometimes also called "petit marami" or "amini" are a homunculus species first created by ancestors of today's silbals. They are born from puppets created by silbals and infused by them with a small portion of their own inner magic once the puppet vessel absorbs enough of the elemental magic from its surroundings. Since morphets aren't a species created by the Divine nor one that evolved from already existing species, they aren't fully capable of controlling their own elemental power which often leaks through their skin or even turns parts of their body (mostly ears and tail) into pure elemental magic. Since the magic that leaks through their body is usually harmless to the environment, instead of trying to suppress it, most morphets channel it into changing their own looks as they please. Morphets can freely change their form from artificer (bipedal) to voyager (quadrupedal).
Subtypes
Like all petit Drakonian races, morphets are divided into six common elemental subtypes as well as shadow and luminous subtypes, but unlike the other petits, their general body shape is the same for all of those subtypes with the only difference being the type of magic they are born with. While elemental morphets usually cannot control the shape of their magic, being capable of creating nothing more than small accessories or channeling the elemental leak into s specific part of their body, shadow and luminous morphets control theirs on a much higher level, often shaping it to look like an outfit. Additionally, shadow morphets can manifest their energy into dusk arms, while luminous morphets can create dawn wings, both of which have solid (tho translucent) shapes and can be used as actual limbs.
