i had been working on this for like 2 weeks... only because i do not have the energy to draw outside of weekends these days, rip.

So, this is Firebird 's gear while she's a combatant/before she resigned to pursue a noncombatant position in the Hunters. Of course, this is her gear when her position as combatant is at her highest. When she resigned, she was an A-class hunter.

At first, some people called it the Blackbird Armour until they saw how /hot/ the physical blades are. After which everyone unanimously calls it the Firebird Armour.

Firebird designed the entire thing herself - this set is what got her the acclaim required for her to transfer from combatant to engineer (like Alia, Douglas, and Pallette) with relative ease. Of course, since the gear is funded by Hunters funds, it doesn't fully belong to her; she wasn't allowed to wear it after resigning unless specifically assigned to.

The armour is sleek but dense. Most Hunters understandably use beam weapons because they're lighter, but Firebird keeps physical weapons. It is heavier, but can work without energy. And when it's heated/fully charged with energy, it is very very hot. To add to that, they can be telekinetically controlled, although only one blade from each "wing" can come out at a time.

Firebird: Overkill is designed to finish tough fights quickly. Its endurance is low due to its energy intensive features, which translates to its high offense and defense. However, it is specifically designed by Firebird for Firebird, who prefers to fight brutally and get it over with quickly. Hence, the Lite version is the standard form that Firebird uses for normal missions.

Due to its abundance of features, however, Firebird has to be assisted by a navigator to switch from Lite to Overkill and vice versa. Those wings, shield "tails" and blades can be quite big.

Later on post-Transitory, Firebird dons this gear once again during the brief period that she needed to be deployed. It's not that she's the only one who can use it correctly, it's just that the Hunters were in need of someone to take Axl's place after he's suspended.

Why? There will be a deviation to explain that. And it's this. Enjoy.
