DescriptionI got some really good feedback on my most recent deviation - the 2015 Charity Meme (thank you everyone for the wonderful compliments!). Because I spent a lot of time on each piece individually, I was encouraged by many to submit them separately.I had originally saved some stand-alone images of these drawings but they were only slightly bigger than as seen in the meme. I figured that I am going to post these separately, I should make it worth it; so I'm posting them at the full, original, 100% size I worked with them at in Photoshop. I had to re-save the image which is why this one shows the 2015 watermark even though I completed it in 11/2014. I hope you enjoy!

Incredible job! I'm glad you made them a little bigger. On my little phone the other images were hard to see. The details are more obvious here.
This character's face is unique. It has me thinking "raptor" like Dromeasaurus (apologies for any incorrect spelling there) but the eye socket looks strange. I keep looking at it and thinking the eye is too small or something. :/
Regardless I like the color scheme and the smooth transition from scales to fur and feathers. It is a specialty of yours I think.

True, but on most raptor skulls I have seen through photos or illustrations the eye socket area was generally small but large enough to fit the eye. This dragon's eye socket is very large and square. Probably doesn't matter to much but I couldn't help noticing the shape and size as compared to the eye. May have to go back and look at more raptors. Even they have variations in the skulls depending on the species and such. Don't know what it is but this guy's face just has me thinking dragonified raptor.

ah I think I see what you mean by what you're saying. However, there isn't much I can do. Please keep in mind that the character isn't a raptor anyway and I drew it the way I did to stay true to the reference. FirstMeet2

Ah thank you for the compliments! That's an interesting question - I think my favorite part of the process is the detailing. Even though it is very tedious and time-consuming, it's the part where things really come to life, in my opinion.

Your welcome! Thats interesting because I'm the total opposite, I like the beginning part of concepting the image and designing the characters. I've always had trouble with siting down and detailing even though I love detailed paintings. The detail always seem to kill my work. Happy birthday in advance too!

The colours look really great here, and I totally love this character's stripes and fur, looks totally great 
the lightning is amazing and ofc the shading too, you draw fur really well!
