Love me some Starslayers, they're like Crabs except they jump. If I am not mistaken, the other is 3D variant for some good ol' man-made lightning action. I am rooting for the Cestus though, one of my all time favorite heavy 'mechs.

I have loved the Starslayer ever since MCII, and you do a good mech a great deal of justice in this picture! Well done!

Starslayer is an awesome mech, I have two of those bad boys in my mercenary company. And I never realised the Cestus was a Starleague design.

I am impressed with your black/white/shades of grey work. You did a fine job of tweaking the Starslayer, and the scene is one of action without being too busy. Furthermore, I have been to Singapore many times and those buildings are spot-on! Good work, Anthony.

The lack of busyness is in part due to my tight time schedule. If I had more time I would have liked to detail the city more.

Great choice! The Cestus surely deserved some more spotlight and the Starslayer too. Looking great, especially in some action.

I really like the more realistic feel; a good take on updating the BattleTech aesthetic.

2 Starslayers on a Cestus? That Cesty is dead. Great work, as always.

Great work. I would love to someday see what your completed redesigns of the Cestus and Starslayer would turn out like. As is though, they are already much improved over the very lackluster originals.

Yeah, when I have the time and the go ahead I enjoy doing full redesigns. I can make a lot of improvement while maintaining the original feel.

This looks like an ordinary day in Singapore. Giant spiders, giant puppet girls, it was only a matter of time.

crap crap! I need to edit that. I was thinking Liverpool. You can't look up liverpool without a giant robot spider parading around. Words sound similar though.

Was the B&W angle deliberate?

Battletech books print mostly in BnW, on a high quality book there will only be a few color pages on the centerline. Then there's a color cover.

Woah, that looks fantastic.
... I'm curious though, is there some link between Singapore and mecha? I feel like I've seen a lot of games, shows and stories where there are mecha in that city. Maybe it's just me...

In this particular book there are battles shown all over Earth, I just happened to get the Singapore section.

I think it came out well, overall. The only issue I can really think of is that... How can anyone tell it's Singapore? It just looks like a generic future metropolis. It's probably unrealistic to expect any currently standing landmarks to still be there in the late 2700s, but it would have been nice to see some kind of culturally significant indicators (say, a banner or billboard with Malay and Chinese text).

I would do things like that if I had the time, instead background detail took last place in my efforts. Requirements by Catalyst noted the city, but also said with it being hundreds of years in the future a likeness wasn't required.

I rather suspected that they didn't request anything too specific. But in Battletech lore many cultures and languages survive to the 32nd century. I just figured such a thing would be a nice extra. I did do an image search of Singapore to find something to use as an example that'd likely still be standing. I honestly didn't find much.

I wish you could've had that time! The Cestus is an cool design, stats-wise, but it suffers from that ridiculous, overly-stylized look that they had going for TRO 3058. I swear it was like they were designing them out of soap bubbles and legos. O_o
Is this gonna be in the Liberation of Terra II historical?
