Description Another ShikaNeji drawing-- yay! Well, the drawing itself is several weeks (months?) old, but I wanted to CG it. Then... I got lazy. XD I still wanted to CG it, but I wanted to make it simple.

Feathers: psychobob [link]

Drawn on plain white drawing paper with a .005 Sakura Micron pen. Scanned and coloured in Adobe PS 7.0.

This is going to sound so lame, but my little sister was watching High School Musical 2 yesterday. I was sitting there, thinking slashy thoughts, when I looked up and saw the infamous baseball scene. And then Ryan and Chad swap clothes and I went "OMG, Ryan and Chad are gay for each other! They've swapped clothes!" My mum laughed and thought I was joking, but I was dead serious!

I've never seen HSM2. XD The only part I've seen is Troy's godawful pop dance sequence for "Bet On It." I love the song, but whoever did his choreography needs to watch less NSYNC music videos.

I've more had the thought of Gabriella and Sharpay.

lol Yeah, the bitchy rivalry thing. I know. I was going to say something, but then I just went "Forget it, this song mocks itself." XD Seriously, you should watch that scene. It's the most homoerotic thing to ever come out of Disney XP

XD Oh, I see. Just take it from me then that the gayness is there and so obvious it isn't even funny. I've never read that book. I prefer Mark Twain and Shakespeare. Yup, I'm a geek. So laugh if you want.

By the way, when I was writing the word "Shakespeare", I nearly slipped up and wrote "I prefer Shikamaru". What a funny thing to say! I think it's a freudian slip XD

shikaneji In reply to TenshiXXX [2008-07-26 18:33:36 +0000 UTC]

Oh, god. I love Shakespeare, even if I haven't read him in, like, a decade (I was really into Shakespeare when I was in middle school XD), but I hate reading Mark Twain. T_T; I think he's brilliantly clever and I like reading about him, but I hate reading his works.

... Pffft, I can't laugh at anybody for being a geek. I have an x-large LiveJournal shirt I wear to bed. I instinctively try to CTRL+Z when I do something stupid before realizing that doesn't work in real life. I run around in cat ears. I'm on the computer almost as many hours as I'm awake in the day. When I see things in real life that visually seem off-- like a colour-- I start trying to think how to fix it in Photoshop.

LOL! XD I do so love parapraxis. <3 I prefer Shikamaru, too. ^_~

Back when I was twelve and I first started studying his plays, my friends used to say I was weird because I liked it and understood what he was saying My favourites are the tragedies The Scottish Play (I'm superstitous)and Hamlet, and the Histories Richard III and Henry VI. God, I'm seriously considering calling myself a geek.

Well, I always compare people to Naruto characters, I find Astrophysics fascinating, I'm on the computer for most of the day (and night if I can't sleep), Itachi is my idol, and, whenever I see that something is spelled wrong or there is a grammatical error, even on posters or leaflets I'm just going to throw away, I get my pen out and correct them

Let's embrace our geekiness!

I slip up like that all the time. I was writing a story once and I didn't notice what I had done till my sister went "Amber, why have you written "Neji's hair cascaded down his back like raven silk as he gently pulled his hair tie out" when that's your Art essay?" XP I was so embarassed but I managed to convince her that I was writing a story for English and I had accidentally used Neji's name out of habit rather than the female protagnostic's.

shikaneji In reply to TenshiXXX [2008-07-26 21:18:30 +0000 UTC]

Then go ahead and call yourself a geek. ^_^; Honestly, the geek subculture tends to at least be nicer than most other subcultures.

I correct grammatical errors as well. When people deliberately talk "more stupider," I want to hurt them. Once, when I was younger, my friends ganged up on me and started using grammar like that because they found it funny that it would freak me out. Until I started crying because I couldn't handle it. And I never cried in front of people, so they finally got the hint to shut the eff up.

LOL. XD;;; That's great. I don't usually make that kind of mistake, fortunately... ^_^;

Yup! Geeks will rule the world someday! Look at Bill Gates. I doubt he got where he is getting laid every Friday. Getting stuffed into lockers, more likely XD

My friends don't do that, luckily. But they do tell me to go and get checked for OCD when I grab their English books for no reason and start to mark them like a teacher would.

Yeah, it was humiliating. I'm lucky she believed me. My dad always says that I'm the smart one, but that isn't much of a compliment in my family XP

"His family was wealthy; his father was a prominent lawyer, his mother served on the board of directors for First Interstate BancSystem and the United Way, and her father, J. W. Maxwell, was a national bank president. Gates has one older sister, Kristi (Kristianne), and one younger sister, Libby. He was the fourth of his name in his family, but was known as William Gates III or "Trey" because his father had dropped his own "III" suffix.[8] Early on in his life, Gates's parents had a law career in mind for him."
XD Well, he comes from money.

I don't even look at my friends' papers unless asked to because I'd do the same. -.-

-.- My mom says I'm smart. Some other family members acknowledge that I'm smart. My dad thinks I'm an idiot, which is funny since he's such a moron.

Hey! My dad's an idiot too! Another thing we have in common.

Heh, no, not that bad. Though he's homophobic, racist and misogynistic if that counts. Oh, and he lies a lot. Wow, your dad doesn;t sound nice at all.

shikaneji In reply to TenshiXXX [2008-07-28 13:57:31 +0000 UTC]

My dad's homophobic, racist and misogynistic as well. He only likes kids he doesn't have to live with, and even then he prefers boys. He doesn't deliberately lie so much as he gets delusional. -.- He thinks his beliefs are right at all times, to the point that he'll claim he never said something he did, or he did say something he didn't, and believe it.

TenshiXXX In reply to shikaneji [2008-07-28 16:02:00 +0000 UTC]

Wow, snap! I once asked my dad why he hates gays and he said "because they're unnatural," So I asked why they're unnatural and he couldn't answer XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

shikaneji In reply to TenshiXXX [2008-07-28 19:16:16 +0000 UTC]

My mom uses that "unnatural" argument, as well, and Christianity. And I always point out to her, "There are animals in nature that naturally do participate in homosexual activity from time to time. It's not something strictly human." And then she always defers responsibility, saying she's just a human and can't know the ways of the Lord. -.-

TenshiXXX In reply to shikaneji [2008-07-28 20:37:50 +0000 UTC]

Homophobia was the topic of my GCSE speech, which I got an A* in. My teacher said it was because I sounded so passionate about it. To which I replied that I AM passionate about it. Some of the facts and figures disgusted me. For example, did you know that 2 homosexuals are murdered everyday in Latin America? I don't see what the issue is. One thing I said was that homosexuality was perfectly acceptable within Ancient Greek and Roman societies. These are examples of advanced civilisations, and, while the people of Britain were still living in mud huts, wallowing in their own filth, they were building cities filled with great thinkers and artists, such as Plato and Pythagoras. I'm more inclined to believe these people than I am to believe people who considered bathing once a year to be extremely hygenic.

Rant over. I think I got a bit carried away...

shikaneji In reply to TenshiXXX [2008-07-28 22:55:40 +0000 UTC]

Mm... male homosexuality was perfectly acceptable within certain rules to the Ancient Greeks and Romans. XD Adult male/Adult male was something to be kept hush-hush, but adult male/younger boy was glorified. There's a culture even now where teenaged boys take on a 'little brother' figure because they were supposed to guide them into adulthood, and one way that happened was that the younger boys were supposed to imbibe the experience of the older-- in the form of semen, of course. XD; And then they grow up and marry women and have families, and their sons go through the same process.

Female homosexuality really hasn't been discussed much in history in general, though. T.T; There's Artemis, the supreme misandrist, but. XD; And of course, Sapphic love as a whole. And then the Japanese have their samurai tradition of nanshoku. XD

TenshiXXX In reply to shikaneji [2008-07-29 13:56:45 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I know. I forgot to write that. Pederastic relations were perfectly accetable though. Look at Emporer Hadrian and his younger lover Antinous. They really loved each oher. When Antinous drowned, Hadrian was overcome with grief and eventually had many statues and busts made of him. He even named a city Antinopolis, after Antinous. He even had Antinous proclaimed a God, just what like Alexander The Great had done for Hephaistion when he died.

Don't forget the female poet Lesbos, after which the name of the island and the term lesbian was named. She wrote poetry about her love for other women.

Didn't the nanshoku tradition involve men?

shikaneji In reply to TenshiXXX [2008-07-29 14:58:57 +0000 UTC]

I LOVE Emperor Hadrian! He made some nice architecture, too. *o* And he had Antinous, in life, proclaimed to be the ideal perfect beauty or something, too. It's so cute. ♥

How could I forget? XD Sappho lived on Lesbos!

Yes. XD I was just referring to that Japan has a younger, but still present, history of accepted homosexual love in its own past as well.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TenshiXXX In reply to shikaneji [2008-07-29 15:08:34 +0000 UTC]

Yes, he was. One of the stories goes that Hadrian sent his soldiers far and wide to find the perfect example of male beauty, and they returned with Antinous. He must have been the Neji of his time

Oh yes, I forgot about her!

Yes, it's been acceptable for hundreds of years. The only reason it became less acceptable is because the Western culture began to polute Japan.

LOL... the Neji of his time. XD; Actually, since I do see Neji as being masculine, and in the canon I think he's cool-looking but not actually "beautiful" in that effeminate sense, I think Kimimaro would be better there. XD; Prettyyyy~

Yyyyyep. T_T; It's so sad. >_<

I loooove Neji's pose and expression. XD Pretty. ^_^ And Shikamaru's shirt! You should make that on Cafepress, you should. The wings make it twice as amusing, with him usually being associated with birds... ne? Screws would look odd with it though. Is Neji wearing a Shikamaru shirt?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

shikaneji In reply to Duomi [2008-05-26 00:41:37 +0000 UTC]

Yep, the birds are why I gave him wings. And yes, Neji is wearing a Shikamaru shirt. That circle with the crossed-out line is the Nara clan symbol.

If I made that shirt on Cafepress, I'd have people who don't know better attack me for being a Nazi if I wore it in public. XD

Uh, and I reiterate... you really don't need to go out of your way to wander to this account and comment on things. The people here are ShikaNeji fans, not just, like... people who happen to know me so decide to fav it out of obligation or anything. That's what nittle-grasper is for. ^_^;
