Wow, this is very interesting. Obviously there is the reference to poaching but I like to think there is much more than that. The elephants are born from stone, like they are indestructible. Also their position with the trunk pointing straight to the sky, what are they doing exactly? Making a sound? Or trying to reach something? Like now that they have come out of stone, they are heading for the sky. This is really touching.
