I took a different view on this landscape and shot straight into the sun. Using a fish eye lens to get the wide perspective, I lit the foreground with a flash that had a orange gel on.Unlike most other landscapes, the horizon here is right in the middle of the frame- what are your thoughts?

I would write you a full critique, but honestly I don't find much wrong here, so I cant write a balanced critique.
You were unsure about the horizon in the middle of the photo?
I think it suits this particular photograph well. Since the tree is the main subject and is placed (vertically) in the center, but (horizontally) off to the side, and also since the foreground is in the first third of the photograph, this piece is really very balanced and a treat to the eye.
placing the sun through the trees branches was a very nice touch. While it took the glare away and the exposure down, it also nice a nice, interesting effect.
I like the orange glow of the picture. It really lets you feel a hot evening temperature. The orange mixed with the blacks are particularly nice indeed. I love the contrast of this.
somewhat of a critique, but to me it seems more like a fancy praise.
