Description I took this picture a while ago and thought absolutely nothing of it. Not too long ago while going through some of my pictures I came back to this one and was actually surprised by how it turned out. It often seems that when I have just taken photos and I look at them right away I feel that they are terrible, I will then look back at them a few weeks or months later and it turns out that they weren't as bad as I had originally thought, some of them are even really great. Maybe it's time to go back over more of my old pictures; I might find a few surprises...

Very, very cool. I had to do a double take on some of your shots because they looked like manips due to your brilliant captures. And please do not get me wrong, I am not saying anything is manipulated, I am saying your work is exquisite and looks almost surreal it is so good on some image.

Why thank you! (Just thought that I'd confirm that these are not photomanips. )

Hehe, I knew there was no way to say that without it sounding bad, but I gave it a go I never suspected it. Beautiful work.

No, I know, I didn't take it that you thought there was manipulation, I just figured I'd confirm that.

such a great sense of motion... i can imagine this must have been a difficult shot or you made several attempts to get this shot. Beautiful and unique image

I'm very glad you like it!

Actually, I only took one photo of this... Though it may look like it's falling, it's actually not moving at all. This was taken on my dining room table.

i read that as soon as i hit the "submit" button...never-the-less it looks like it is falling and is a wonderful image

this is a fantastic shot. I like the texture the light gives. good timing on this shot as well, it's a bit tricky to photograph an object that moves as sparatically as a feather.

By the way, it wasn't moving... This was taken on my dining table.

That is beautiful....awesome shot...how could you possibly have looked at that and not liked it! *is confused*

Shalora In reply to Lard89 [2006-06-30 16:22:42 +0000 UTC]

I'm glad you like it!

It's not that I looked at it and didn't like it... It's just that I hadn't taken this photo whith the plans of using it for anything. It was a test shot for something else. When I went back to it all those months later and looked at it again, I realised that it could be nice on its own.

what an amazing capture, your timing was perfect, unbeleivable that you wernt gonna share this with us all.

Shalora In reply to manifestation [2006-05-12 21:10:59 +0000 UTC]

Timing? This was a "studio" shot set up on my kitchen table, using a flashlight as a lighting source.

Originally, I hadn't taken this picture to use as somthing to post. It was just a test for something else I was planning to do, so I didn't really look at it. It was just later, while I was going through old files that I found it and realised that I liked it.

Thanks for the comment!

aaaah, now it makes sense, i thought the feather was falling, and you'd caught a beam of light in it while it was falling. still, nice idea, it turned out marveloud.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Shalora In reply to carsickdreamer [2006-04-24 20:45:18 +0000 UTC]

Thank you very much!

Yes, this was my family's dining table - just remove the tablecloth and it makes for a great white background. (I also used it for this image: [link] ) I lit this feather with a normal flashlight.

this did come out well
the fact that the base of the feather is a bit haywire makes it better than if it were a perfect feather

ha. i shouldnt comment when im THIS tired.
