Happy birthday Mereeeeel!

I designed a new character for you. She hasn't a name yet, but this is the design. This is the first time I made the sketch right away in Photoshop (because I have some troubles with my scanner), but I think the anatomy doesn't even suck that bad!
I also made the manes and tail withouth a lineart, and I really like this, so I'm gonna draw my next drawings also withouth a lineart for the manes and tail.
I do need to practise more on dapples, they never look good to me..

But anyway, I hope you like her, hun!

I'm afraid it does. But there are plenty of good tutorials here on dA, I have also collected quite a few, if you look into my favourites. And remember that the most important point of improving is practise.

Do you mean with sketching? Or with lining and colouring? And do you have a drawing tablet?
Also, maybe it helps to check out the tutorials from ~boribaby , they are very easy to follow and she shows everything from sketch to background: [link] [link] and [link] . I hope they are helpful! And if you have questions, you can always ask me.

What a beauty! The mane and tail looks absolutely beautiful and I love her eyes! The dapples are beautiful and I find doing manes and tails without lineart much easier! That way, I don't have to follow in little black lines to make sure that things are neat. I just make the mane and wavy or as still as I feel like!
