Donkey Kong Country maybe one of the finest forgotten platformers of the older days. While revived as DKC Returns, in a similar vein as New Super Mario Bros; some magic of the DKC series was left in the past. One of those elements was the main baddies; the Kremlings.

After his defeat in DKC, King K. Rool returns to Kong Island; only this time he kidnaps DK and orders the Kongs give him the Banana hoard; or they'll never see DK again. Rather then heed his warning however; Diddy and his girlfriend Dixie head out to the sinister Kremland to face of with K. Rool in his home turf. Fighting their way through his troops; eventually K. Rool runs scared and retreats to the flying Kroc; his final line of defense.

After defeating Screech in a race; Diddy and Dixie infiltrate his ship to find him torturing DK. Now dawning a Pirate Outfit, and armed with a Blunderbuss; K. Rool now showcases plenty of new abilities; in what is the hardest fight in the series in my opinion. His moveset consists of rapid cannonball onslaughts of various angles and patterns, smoke that can freeze, slow or reverse controls, and even the ability to disappear and teleport. He also uses his Blunderbuss as a vacuum and attempts to suck the Kongs towards him to beat them with the butt of the gun. However; ultimately this move is his undoing as the Blunderbuss can be clogged to misfire if the cannon balls launched are tossed back into the gun.

After being punched by DK and sent tumbling into Krem Quay; King K. Rool retreats to the lost world and the Crocodile Kore; which powers the entirety of Kremland. Ultimately, he is sent tumbling into the core; which destroys all of Krocodile Isle; and K. Rool escapes on a small boat; ensuring to the Kongs he would one day return for vengeance.

It should also be worth noting that Kaptain K. Rool is NOT King K. Rool's brother; this was obviously a mistake on the trophy information of Super Smash Brothers Brawl; it's the same character; as indicated by the constant hints found throughout the game.
