I'm doing the Smaugust challenge this month! I made my own prompt list and I'll be drawing dragons inspired by various birds. You can find the prompt list here and if you want you can join me!

This dragon is known for its marvelous crest that moves in a way that resembles real fire. Unlike the previously seen dragons the Hoopoe dragon actually breathes fire but isn't particularly dangerous. Its crest feathers are coveted prizes and some believe this dragon is a descendant of the mythical phoenix.
