On another note, kinda wondered how guns would work for ponies - mainly the triggers... everything else could be fairly easily modified for them, but how the heck would a trigger be made to work?

Oh dear, oh dear Appebloom, not only don't you appear to have brought any other magazines to use when that charged clip is gone, you haven't thought about how to operate any of the trigger mechanisms, the bolt catch, the mag release, the sights with those clunky hooves of yours...

Could have made the mag on the gun smaller, barely any space for the pistol grip left, and firing with marshmallow hooves doesn't seem like easy.
Also the linearts seem a bit too thin because you were going a bit more to the show style.
Does look pretty neat though, 7/10.

yeah, i did notice that about the pistol grip. somehow the mag got moved back a little, but it was too late too fix it.
