APPEARANCE
Build
Adderbite is tall, and sturdy. His pelt ripples with muscle that has been packed on over the moons. He is purely strength, and would be faster if he didn't have as much muscle. However, his stamina and endurance is excellent - take a look at his broad shoulders and his broad chest, and the tail that helps him turn and balance all of his power. His pelt is thick and longers around his neck and the top of his head.
Pelt
If Adderbite's pelt were a blank canvas, it's base would be covered in solid charcoal grey. Light grey, brown, and dark brown splatters and splotches would appear almost randomly and in mottled patches. Some of the light brown patches would contain dark brown tabby stripes.
Voice
Adderbite's voice is deep and rough, but the tones are soothing and warm. You could compare it to the sound of a very deep, almost purr-like noise or to the sound of deep thunder rumbling in the distance.
Scars
Adderbite has a lot of scars! He'd gladly tell you stories about them if you ask.
Scent
Adderbite smells like the dry, sun-baked dirt of the WindClan moors. He's also go the scent of honey wafting off of his pelt - mixed with his natural musk.

PERSONALITY
- positive | - nuetral | - negative
Fatherly | Adderbite often finds himself involuntarily assuming a fatherly role over many felines. It doesn't matter their age, nor their personality; he'll try his best to take care of them, especially if they are young and dependent on him. Adderbite doesn't like the idea of losing any of his clanmates, and he tends to grow close with them without even trying. He doesn't realize how fatherly and encouraging he can be. He's helpful and determined to make felines be the best they can be. Adderbite is generally just a gentle and caring cat once oyu get to know him. If you're a good soul, he'll open up to you and protect you at all costs - even if it takes his life. When his protective nature kicks in, he can often be quick to decide on something, and too stubborn to have his mind changed. It can be dangerous if you get in his way, and it may also anger him.
Loyal | Adderbite is dangerously loyal, even taking it to extremes at times. He cares about his Clan and would do almost anything for it. His protective nature aids this trait, however, his loyalty can prove to be either positive or negative depending on how it is used and manipulated by those who are in charge of him. Adderbite could be seen as a soldier; he's hard-working and wants nothing to do other than prove his loyalty and how much he can be depended on. He's got a good head on his shoulders, and usually has good judgement on weather an action of his would affect his loyalty positively or negatively. Adderbite is very repsectful, but he believes his loyalty and respect are to be earned. If you break his trust or prove to him that you don't deserve his loyalty or trust .. Then he will likely never trust you in the same way again.
Independent&Stubborn | Adderbite is a pretty independent tom - he's also very stubborn. He doesn't need help from many, and when he does need help, he has trouble admitting to it. He likes to be able to do things on his own, and if he can't, it'll really frustrate him - sometimes even to the point of rage or tears. He tries to not let things get to him, but is slightly over-sensitive. He has difficulty changing his mind on opinions, even when in the wrong. If you try to prove him wrong, it'll probably just frustrate him. Adderbite also cannot accept when he's lost a fight, and this'll often lead to him making risky, stupid decisions. Firefeather's gentle nature helps him, though, and ever since the two became mates, he's had less trouble struggling with this trait.
Anger-prone | Adderbite's protective nature and loyalty can often get out of hand if he isn't careful. It makes him stubborn and hard-headed, and he often doesn't back down from a fight, even if he is obviously in the wrong. Adderbite is usually a calm and good-natured tom unless if he is angered. It required a lot of pushing his buttons, or putting someone he cares about at risk. Either way, he'll probably attempt to tear you to shreds if you anger him. It takes a lot to anger him and a good amount of effort to calm him down. It might be easier to calm him if he cares about you, but you would probably lose a lot of his respect and trust. It's best to not push Adderbite's buttons, for it may become a dangerous situation very quickly.
His personality traits may change with time as he is developed.
WE CAN TAKE IT ALL APART
BEFORE BIRTH
Breezepelt was a rebellious tom, and though he was loyal to WindClan, he was also stressed out over the past few rough days, and the thick, lovely scent of catnip and mint over the border was just teasing him. He couldn't help himself to indulging and feeding his desires. Little did he know that the herbs had hidden the scent of a she~cat, whom of which had already treated herself to them first and was watching him in a daze from afar. Her giggle was what brought a swaggering Breezepelt to his attention. What happened that night was a mistake, and neither of them thought anything of it until they stumbled across each other less than a moon later. They were both spitting, hissing mad, and loathed one another. Perhaps it was their way of saying they wished they had never made such a mistake, and that they were both afraid of what could possibly happen.
Another moon later and it was time for a gathering. From across the clearing, Breezepelt saw Ivypool, belly plump and heavy. He knew they were his kits - they had to be. Ivypool did her best to avoid Breezepelt, but to no avail. He pressed against her side for just a moment in the shadows at the edge of the clearing, where they would be hidden from all eyes. A relationship was formed over three words that he spoke; a simple promise - "I'll be there."
Breezepelt began to meet with Ivypool at the border as often as possible. The WindClan leader became suspicious, what with him always being gone for so long and always returning with so little .. And she followed him, seeing him lick Ivypool on the cheek and hearing sweet words of a lover fall out of his mouth. Breezepelt sure got an earful when Ivypool had returned home .. "But I love her," was his only protest. Everything was explained, but a WindClan patrol of a few warriors not too far from the two and had heard the entire conversation. Later that night, Ivypool had confessed her guilt to a Queen - and one of the kits in the den overheard. So that was that for WindClan and ThunderClan - and soon the news spread to ShadowClan and RiverClan as well.
The night of the kitting, Breezepelt was permitted into ThunderClan camp. He had clung to his mate and worried over her - she was weak. The kitting was long and difficult for the small she~cat. The first kitten - a creamy brown tabby tom - was a still born. The next two were sisters, one a mottled assortment of greys and whites, and the other a solid black like her father. Both died of organ failure moments after they were gifted life. Then came Adderkit -softly mewling in protest as he was licked dry. He was the only kit that was healthy, and already Adderkit was using his muscles, kicking out in protest at the cold.
Ivypool had fallen into a deep sleep form exhaustion. She had lost so much blood .. The medicine cat tried over and over to wake Ivypool, but slowly, her body became cold .. And Breezepelt returned to WindClan with only a broken heart.
0-6 MOONS
Breezepelt had named his son Adderkit, after how the kit's mottled brown and grey pelt reminded his father of the fierce snake. Adderkit lived in ThunderClan and was visited by his father often. Breezepelt's only worries in the world were how often he was permitted to see his son. The day Adderkit opened his eyes, Breezepelt took him home to WindClan with him. Though .. the two were seen as outcasts, signs of disloyalty and betrayal to WindClan. Adderkit was given to a friendly Queen to nurse off of. Her name was Honeycloud, and she was fiercely protective of the kit. She wouldn't let anyone go near him for the longest time, and when others talked wrongly about the kit and Breezepelt, Honeycloud protested with fuming anger. She was the perfect mother.
When Adderkit was weaned, Hoenycloud left the nursery and continued her warrior duties, but visited him often. However, he slept in his own nest, and was often teased for being half-clan. He didn't understand what "half-clan" meant, but he was bigger than all of the kits his age, and even some of the ones older than him, and when he got angry and shouted at them to go away, they did .. But his nest was always so empty and lonely.
Breezepelt checked in on his son every day - and was happy when he found that Adderkit had begun to make friends with the other kits in the nursery. However happy that Breezpelt was, though, he was constantly being put down by others in the Clan for his past mistakes. Eventually, he became deeply troubled and depressed, and when Adderkit was 4 moons old, Breezepelt was found at the base of a tall tree, with blood trickling form the corner of his mouth.
That was when Adderkit met Nightcloud. He found his grandmother huddling over her son's broken body in the clan camp, and the elderly she~cat's fierce personality crumbled to the kit's broken heart. They two shared a bond similar to Adderkit and Hoenycloud's, and shortly beofre Adderkit was apprenticed, Nightcloud told him about Adderkit's mother.
As Adderkit grew closer to his grandmother, she would often slip into the nursery and curl herself around him with nothing but love in her eyes. Suddenly, Adderkit's nest wasn't so empty anymore.
6-12 MOONS
Adderkit was given Hoenycloud as a mentor, and on that day, he beamed with nothing but pride and joy. They went out of camp right away, and the newly made Adderpaw was given a chance to use his muscles and explore as he never had before. Honeycloud watched him with joy and told him about specific places to hide and when the best time for him to hunt would be - since he was so dark, hunting would be easiest for him at night. She didn't realize that, as the sun started to sink into the sky, a heavy figure was barreling towards Adderpaw in the distance. A yowl from her left startled Honeycloud - and she watched in despair as Nightcloud took a blow that was meant for Adderpaw.
Adderpaw had to watch with tears in his eyes as Nightcloud was thrown to the side, her old, frail bones thrown through the air like she was nothing. He stood, frozen, in a panic. Honeycloud jumping in front of him, hissing and spitting at the badger, was the only thing that brought Adderpaw to his senses. Hoenycloud yowled at him to return to camp and get help, and Adderpaw did his best to find his way back as fast as possible - but he got lost a few times. By the time a patrol found Adderpaw and he explained to the leader what was going on, it was too late. The badger was found and chased off by the patrol, but Hoenycloud and Nightcloud were both gone.
Adderpaw was given a moon of mourning - in this time he was nothing was broken. Too many had been taken from him for him to handle, and the worried leader gave him a new mentor - a she~cat named Fawnflight. It was Fawnflight and Adderpaw's older cousin, Coalpaw, who both kept close eyes on Adderpaw during this time. After he began to cheer up a bit, Fawnflight took him outside of camp and they began to train. Adderpaw often raced with the much smaller, less-bulky Coalpaw, and e almost always lost the faster races, but he usually won the longer runs. Adderpaw would often spar with other apprentices as well, and was able to take them down with brute force. He grew very quickly, overtaking most of the apprentices in size within a few moons. Adderpaw was either helpign the elders, volunteering to help the medicine cat, or training as hard as he could. He pushed his body to the limits over and over again, and foudn it to be his way of relieving stress.
Life was getting better - Fawnflight had become the leader, Coalpaw had become a warrior, and Adderpaw met Dawnpaw, a lovely calico she~cat who became apprentice when he was around 11 moons old. The two quickly made friends and even trained together secretly - Dawnpaw's mentor didn't pay her very much attention, and with Adderpaw being one of the most skilled apprentices, he taught everything he could to her. The two grew very close, and one night when secretly training together, Dawnpaw promised Adderpaw she'd never leave him.
When Adderpaw was 14 moosn old, Fawnstar made him into a warrior because she believe him far to skilled and experienced to be an apprentice anymore - in fact ,she told him she should have made him a warrior two moons before.
14-CURRENT
And so Adderpaw became Adderbite, and Dawnpaw was close behind him. The two talked of their future and made promises to one another, and Adderbite continued to help train Dawnpaw. He learned that Coalgaze had made friends with a lovely ThunderClan she~cat, and secretly found this to his amusement - he had a feeling that something might have been going on. A few moons later, when the she~cat joined WindClan, he got to meet her, and found her to be a comforting friend. Though he was a tad distant, he found it nice to have some felines in his life who cared about him.
Around the age of 20 moons, Adderbite learned his favorite way to eat. He had always been picky, and sliced his meal into nice cuts of meat, but one day, honey dripped out of an overhead tree and fell onto the meat. Adderbite didn't want the food to go to waste, to with an uneager expression on his face, he prepared himself to try this new meal. What he found was perfection, and now, he always slices the meat, rests it on the pelt - and never the ground, for it might get dirty - and uses different way to slather or fill it with honey before he eats it. Often he'll share this treat with felines he is fond of.
And then came the Scale Plague. Adderbite worked and worked and worked day in and day out to help his Clan. It was his way of relieving stress - through work. Dawnpaw and Fawnstar both caught the plague, and when Adderbite wasn't working, he was watching closely over them. He's surprised he never got sick during these times. Eventually, both of them died - and Adderbite was left with a broken heart and the title of Deputy for all his hard work and loyalty.
Adderbite then met Firefeather, a beautiful fiery ginger tabby she~cat. The two hit it off and became friends after she helped him find some honey. Adderbite quickly grew fond of Firefeather, but when Firefeather pushed him away .. He left her be for a while. When she confronted him about his ignoring her and explained that she didn't enjoy it, Adderbite and Firefeather grew closer again.
And then one night, Adderbite found himself visited by Dawnpaw. She told him to move on and be with Firefeather, and he did just as so. At 26 moons, Adderbite had a mate, and a few moons later, Coalstar had given him his first official apprentice, Inkpaw.

His neck, and his ears. Breath on the back of the neck or the front of the chest is, 'very nice,' in Adderbite's opinion.

Adderbite takes courting very seriously, and lost his virginity to his mate, Firefeather. Shortly after, she had his kits.
I'VE BEEN UNDERWATER, BREATHING OUT AND IN
LIKES
- Innocent and young animals are sort of a weakness to Adderbite. You'll find him having a soft spot for apprentices, especially underdogs. Also, you may notice that when hunting, he doesn't kill young creatures.
- Adderbite likes to go out and be alone sometimes. He takes his free time to appreciate nature, and you can often find him at one of his favorite landscapes, usually and area where there is an open view of the sky with lots of wind to blow freely through his fur. He likes to take in the beautiful colors of the world and the patterns in the bark of trees. Small things seem to mean a great deal to Adderbite.
- The smell of pine-cones and mint, but also the smell of earth and honey.
- Being alone and having solitude and quiet moments with himself and close friends.
- The sounds murmuring of rivers and the whisper of wind rushing through grass and trees soothe him.
- The taste of honey is his favorite in the entire world, or so he claims. He often spreads honey on his meals before he eats them, and is very neat when he eats. He'll often use his claws to slice the fur off of his chosen meal to expose the clean meat; and he tries to not get dirt in his meal, either. He usually slathers the meat in honey before he eats.
- Adderbite has a particular obsession with feathers, piercings and sharp teeth from predatory animals, and loves to make deals with Hedgehog. Somewhere out there, he has a hidden horde of trinkets and things of the such.
- Often, Adderbite will talk of his family with confidence.
DISLIKES
- Adderbite isn't one for drama or gossip. He believe personal business should remain personal.
- Certain citrus-y foods/fruits and cold snow and air make his teeth ache; he doesn't like dealing with these conditions, as they can be very painful and will put him in a terrible mood.
- Adderbite hates bees. "They're always keeping him from his honey!" Is what anyone would say if you asked them why he dislikes them so much.
GOALS
- To raise his kits correctly.
- To become leader, however much he doesn't want to lose his cousin.
FEARS
- Adderbite doesn't like getting close to others as much as he used to. He's afraid they'll all be taken away by the cruel, twisted humor of fate.
- Adderbite is excited to have a family, but is afraid all at the same time because he fears losing them.
- Adderbite is afraid of badgers.
- Being disloyal to Firefeather. He doesn't trust himself with commitment, but it's only because he loves her and doesn't want to lose her.
I THINK I'M LOSING WHERE YOU END AND I BEGIN
ROLEPLAY EXAMPLE
It took her only a few seconds to come into his vision. She seemed so regal, so elegant and proud; really, she carried herself like a lioness, the queen of a pride of strong, healthy lions would. She smelled strongly of herbal fragrances, and when the wind shifted, he caught onto her ShadowClan scent. Her movements rustled the bits of things - grass, dirt, nettles, pebbles .. the list went on - on the ground as she came into view.
The way she circled him almost made him go up on alarm - like one of those tricky she~cats, who would tell him one thing and do another. When he noticed her almost kit-like behavior, he smiled and watched her ever more closely.. Well, as far as he could tell, she was pretty from afar, but even better up close. For a moment, the wind changed direction, tussling the branches of the tree, and the hair on both of the cats to the left. He smiled at her briefly as she moved directly in front of him. Hm - but she was still a way away .. He would love to stare into those eyes of hers.
He had finally finished speaking, but then she moved forward again. He sat up with a soft, slow yawn, but not before noting a small falter in her step at his 'dear' comment. Her facial expression, once regal and so .. innocent and pure .. They melted away into fear and devastation, of what Adderpaw had felt so many times. He looked at her face, almost eye to eye - but he was taller, and as of now, hunched over. The look in her eyes .. Those glossy, glassy orbs almost appeared broken. He wanted to reach out as he felt pain flood his heart, tears filling his eyes at the thought of past fears and losses. He almost let out a chocked sob, but it came out as a shaky sigh.
His voice was softer, now, even if her painful expression had quickly gone away, rebuilt itself into something strong, but interested. He didn't know what had brought that expression to her - certainly not his comment? But, nevertheless, part of it had to be his fault. "I'm so sorry .." What could break such a spirit as hers, as he had seen in her eyes, almost see instantly in her heart like a flame ready to burst and become a wildfire. He had seen a spark like that in Dawnpaw.
He had wanted to feel Dawnpaw's spark of life rush into him. What was that spark? It bothered him so. He itched to know. Several things had come to him that the sparks could be - the cats' actual spirits .. Their personality .. Their strong hearts .. Gosh, he really didn't know. Could they be love itself, maybe life itself? He looked at the almost kit-like apprentice - almost too obviously the medicine cat apprentice - with awe and respect for her spark. No one could tear that down, and in an instant, he felt a rush of protectiveness run through him, like sap through the bark of a strong, ancient tree, bringing back it's feeling of sweet, young life.
Yes, she was a kit in his eyes, but an apprentice all the same. Maybe even like a little sister of sorts .. She was so innocent, like all of the gentle, soothing things in the world wrapped into one beautiful, fragile piece. Was that how brothers felt like towards sisters? Was that why brothers always talked to him before he met their sisters, made sure their little sisters were safe and out of harms way - from a broken heart, from a disappointment, from a serious or even a small wound?
His voice became more soft, yet still deep, like the tumbling of those far, echoing rocks into mountain crevices and caverns, echoing deeply, deeply, deeply, on and on and on. "I'm Adderpaw."
