"Untitled (Frog and Moon)" A better title would not come to me.
Graphite pencil and acrylics on watercolor paper.
Approximately 9.5x13 inches (full size with white borders is 11x14 inches)

When I was working on this I thought of when we catch frogs, we hold them a bit closer or a better view.

Over all I do like this piece (the textures is nice). After all, your style is pretty awesome.
One thing that bothers me is how the top of the moon interacts with the line of the frog's back. But of course I get overly picky about line interactions.

Yeah, I noticed that post. Originally I had a sentence or two addressing that I noticed that, but the flow of the paragraph was horrible and would have required a complete re-write lol. I look forward to seeing the reworked version.

This shows haw bad I am when it comes to identifying with nature and animals. I thought the little tiny frog legs were catfish whiskers at first glance.
The idea of placing the moon in there seems really random to me. Almost like it was just thrown in at the last minute for kicks. is there any special meaning behind the two being in the same picture?
Also, I really like the way drew the hind leg as a spiral. That never would have occurred to me, but it really does come out looking wonderful; a very nice artistic touch.

I added the Moon to give more meaning to the work but looking at it again it does seem a bit contrived. The frog is lunar, sharing symbolism with the Moon (rhythm, cyclic time, the spiritual aspect of light in darkness), and is a rain-bringer. The frog is also associated with the waters and shares some water symbolism: healing waters, rejuvenation, renewal, resurrection.
I think I was hasty posting this piece before taking a good look at it and I have already begun reworking it.

I never knew the frogs had such associations. I will have to look into that further. that actually makes a lot of sense now.
if you're reworking it, maybe rework visual lunar concepts into that hing leg somehow?
or the eye. make that twinkle a crescent moon.

I love the twinkle in the eye, it makes it look like it is raising it's non-existent eyebrows at the viewer. XD

I really like that little twinkle in its eye, such a tiny detail but it gives so much life to it! (plus I loooove those greens)
