Description
Photoshop 7; Illustrator CS; I originally started the piece in Illustrator, then realized i needed photoshop for the stars and lights.In any case, Nightfall is the companion of Sunset [link] . This one just took a lot longer to submit because i just couldn't get the colors and focus on the boy right. No pretty words for this one, but i'm guessing it speaks screams "antisocial" and "loneliness" without any help from me. *cough*
Critique would be very welcome - i really do enjoy reading what others like and dislike about my work.
-- edit -- i changed the moon, and the big star a little, so everyone should be happy now; also, following ~anathel 's suggestions, i've added some detail to the city. i hope it looks better now!

I love the buildings, kinda relaxed look to them also, the boy stands out well enough but not too much where he'd be glowing, great job

That looks really great, i think it's even better than Sunset. Love the colors. Just one thing though, i think the blurry cross you used for the big star / small moon (XD) ruins the illustration effect, maybe you can take the blurriness away?

make a circle the same colour as the background, then copypaste another version of it on top of it, make the copy smaller and use the blend tool on them (w). that should do the trick ^_^

something i come up after looking at this.
about the critique. i guess the that star seems pretty way too much glowing, also the glowing streaks went too long. rest is nice.

the sky bothers me a bit. the moon, i know is full but covered by cloud. but in that case, the glare from the star should be covered by the cloud above it too. speaking of which, the glare looks funny. >_o i think it might be better vectored instead of brushed, buuut i don't know much about vectors, so my call of judgement may not be a good one. maybe, also a little ambience from the city would be a nice tough. but that make the picture more busy than you were aiming for, so I don't know.
everything else looks great though. i love the flower! so cute.
