Description This is a portrait I did of a grown up Hal as a Christmas gift to my best buddy!

Hal here grew up into a handsome young Homunculus and rules his realm of Sleepy Hallow without falter. He's finally grown into his hands, grew his hair out in memory of his beloved master, and traded his witch's hat in for a cloak (he's pretty dressed down in this image and missing said cloak!)

This was my very first attempt to use Prisma color pencils, and I absolutely LOVED IT! I also used tan toned paper to give the colors more pop (white is so boring now I swear to god...). The original portrait is now with my friend, and the scans with me!

The scan, obviously, has been altered a bit to give it more pop. Our scanner is a bit crappy so the picture came out rather dark and flat - not at all like the actual image. But with some online filters and editing tools, Hal looks as stunning as he should!

His species, Homunculus, is a bit tricky because the soul of the human used to make Hal was about eight, so he started out as an eight-year-old spirit! Homunculi, in my canon, 'age' in stages though. It's painful though because their bodies are not meant to grow, so they basically warp and stretch through puberty to adulthood in a matter of hours or days, often bedbound. Hal here went through three stages - pre-pubescent, puberty, then now to adulthood! Poor guy...QwQ But this is his last stage! He won't grow or 'age' anymore.

That's kind of cool though. I don't know much about that species , but in the few books and series they show up in , they never seemed to age , so i wasn't sure.

Homunculi as a general species is often tricky because people re-interpret their lore. For me, I gave Homunculi their own set of biological and physiological rules! The stage-growth thing is a concept I use exclusively for my RotG verse. 8)

There's also two , complete definitions for the term to XD which makes things even more confusing , i'm sure. That , and the fact there is little lore to go by. I think the twist you gave it is really creative.

THAT IS VERY TRUE ACTUALLY (Copics are so pricey though, and inks are harder to layer for me lol)
(Try Amazon! MUCH cheaper there, otherwise you're looking at a near $20 pricetag.)
