Description
This is a particular of a marble roman sarcophagus of the first half of the 3th century AD. It represents the hell gate, but "hell" in the meaning of the greek and roman religion (the underworld, the afterworld, the Hades), not in the negative meaning of the abrahamic religions.
It come from the holy trinity abbey in Miletus ("Miletus" in Italy, not in Anatolia), exposed in the national archaeological museum of Naples (Campania, Italy).
