Lotus, the paramour and closest confidant of Hadriel Lavandros.

Lotus generally comes off as cold and aloof, with a snarky tone and little engagement in other people. He doesn't open up or show vulnerability easily, which isn't exactly surprising considering his past.
Lotus is a freedman, brought into slavery in early childhood. He is a eunuch, castrated before going through puberty.
He was bought and freed in his mid-teens by Hadriel, for reasons beyond him. For several years he lived on his own, making a living by street performance and prostitution, utilizing the only skills he'd really been taught; music, dance and sex.
He was 19 when he reunited with the man who bought his freedom.

Lotus is fiercely loyal and devoted to Hadriel and would without a doubt walk over corpses for him. His love doesn't blind him to his flaws though, and he's always the first person to call him out when he's being stupid, reckless or doing something unethical.

Lotus' real name is Samaris, but being the only thing left to him from the time before his enslavement, he prefers to keep it to himself, sharing it only with Hadriel. Lotus started out as the name he went by on the streets, but he decided to keep it even after leaving that life behind.

Lotus still finds pleasure in music, favouring string instruments. He dedicates a lot of time to practicing, studying and composing his own works. He has a beautiful singing voice too.

Lotus is 27-years old.
