Description To those who dont know... James Howlett is the birth name of the crazy canadian we all know as Logan. We share the same first name and initials! How cool is that?

I was away from my PC for two full days now and i couldnt do any digital work especially the commissioned ones so i did this instead. Pencils and inks totally mine with no references. Might color this and submit it for 's contest.

I found that the PILOT permanent ink projector marker fine (F) works a lot better from me than the sharpie. Lineweight variation is easier to achieve with it. Try it! Havent done much traditional comicbook art lately so its not the pen, its my out-of-practice crappy skills.

Anyone who wants to color this, feel free but please do credit me for the lineart k? He's either wearing the brown costume or could be topless.

haha... wish i chose Jade Veil or Blood Tears though... the character owner is giving out an additional $40 for the best rendition of his characters. But since i already did em already, i chose others.

I've gone for a drastic change in my composition on mine so I can keep my original character and the BG. No time to make new ones! I really really hope they work :/

no, they were really good but like you pointed out, your character didnt seem to work with the BG. Then again, that was juz a sketch and you might work it out when you start coloring and rendering the character. Sometimes, all it takes is having the light play around the character to make it part of the whole piece.

Well I thought of something that might work... I thought of putting her in a corridor (like a corridor of a room leading to a train station or tube) with a window that you can see the BG through. Not sure if it'll work but I've ran out of time now

Wow! That's a real tall order as the insides of the room would mean doing more details on the BG! But im sure you can do that. I havent logged in the whole day in DA juz to finish both entries and im happy i was able to!

I am almost done. Not sure if Im happy with the BG but reasonably happy with the character coloring. I'll be done in a couple of hours so Ill upload it then. Not high hopes here, the competition is fierce.

I juz saw your entry! cool work Vass! and we both thought the character wouldnt match the BG but you made it work! props to you!

As for the contest, yeah... the competition is fierce and although ive received some praises on my work, im experienced enough in contests to know that anything can happen so... yeah. Good luck to us!

I really love the style of this, the contrast of light and shadow. I like that we obviously know it's Wolverine, but his face is cast in shadow, so there's somewhat of a sense of mystery.

Thanks! Im glad that you liked it! I dont usually do faces well with inks but im glad i was able to pull this off. TBH, i think it looks better that i filled his face with darkness. LOL.
