Andrew "Ender" Wiggin is extremely intelligent, and at the age of six years old, he goes to Battle School to be trained. Ender quickly rises to the top and begins training in order to command Earth's fleet.

Because the Buggers have returned - and now Ender is Earth's only hope...only he doesn't know it.

I still hate the "Formics" name. Just call them the Buggers, Gavin Hood, you piece of shit. Seriously, who gave him this much creative control over the series? Just look how his last outing turned out!

TheFoxyEccentric274 In reply to Seleyah [2009-09-19 22:30:14 +0000 UTC]

*laugh* No, I'm not. After I graduated, I didn't want to go right into college or a job. I wanted to chill for a while. But it's been almost two years now and it's time to get moving. But circumstances are not ideal at the moment. I'll leave it at that.

Seleyah In reply to TheFoxyEccentric274 [2009-09-19 23:19:29 +0000 UTC]

I didn't want to do college right away either, mostly since I didn't know what I wanted to do. So my dad was like, "You like graphics, well this community college has a graphics associates degree, why don't you do that while you decide?" So I did.

I graduated in December with an Associates in Graphics Communication. Then I got a job four months ago, so I'm kinda set! But I know what you mean about un-ideal circumstances.

Well, mainly what's holding me back is that I don't have my driver's license yet. Or anything suitable to drive.

*laugh* You looked up "stromnambular?" Really? I just put some random bits of word together. I didn't think it would really mean anything.

TheFoxyEccentric274 In reply to Seleyah [2009-09-26 20:08:18 +0000 UTC]

What? No, it's just a word I made up to throw into a conversation at random in an attempt to make the other person laugh. It doesn't seem to work as well as it used to, though. *shrug*

Seleyah In reply to TheFoxyEccentric274 [2009-10-02 03:09:46 +0000 UTC]

I looked up the word and the closest thing had something to do with magic skulls. I think maybe actually hearing you say it would have more of a comical effect.

I LOVE "Ender's Game." It is nice to see fanart from another fellow fan. Whose pictures did you use when you made this?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Seleyah In reply to TheFoxyEccentric274 [2009-09-09 01:52:19 +0000 UTC]

Have you read more in the series? I've only read "Speaker for the Dead" and "Ender's Shadow".

I love seeing fanart from my fav fandoms! Well, the main picture is the cover of the book. The kids are supposed to be Peter, Valentine, and Ender. Of course, they could also be kids from Battle School, but y'know. I used a younger Shia LaBeouf for Peter, a younger Elle Fanning for Valentine, and the kid I used for Ender, I don't know his name. I altered the faces of all the kids to better fit their ages.

I've read "Ender's Game," "Ender's Shadow," and "Shadow of the Hegemon." I did start another of Card's books called "Songmaster," but I never finished it. What other books have you read, besides Orson Scott Card?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Seleyah In reply to TheFoxyEccentric274 [2009-09-13 23:27:15 +0000 UTC]

Ah, I would like to read "Shadow of the Hegemon" and "Xenocide".

I like to read lots of fiction...historical, sci-fi...several genres of fiction. I also like reading actual history. My favorite periods are the Renaissance, the Civil War and WWII. I also like C.S. Lewis, Charles Dickens, J.R.R. Tolkien, and others like that.

What about you?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheFoxyEccentric274 In reply to Seleyah [2009-09-14 01:27:45 +0000 UTC]

I like, of course, Orson Scott Card, L.A. Meyer's "Bloody Jack" books, J.K. Rowling, Darren Shan's Cirque du Freak books, Eoin(pronounced Owen) Colfer, the "Inkheart" books by Cornelia Funke, Brandon Mull's "Fablehaven" series, the "Twilight" saga, I'm currently reading "The Host" by Stephenie Meyer, though, I'm not really sure what to think of it at the moment. Oh, I also like the Alex Rider books by Anthony Horowitz. So, yeah, I've read a lot. *laugh* Although, I like to think I have better grammar skills than most my age because of it. ^__^ Anyway, should you choose to partake of any of the DELICIOUS titles above, let me know what you think of them, if you would, OK?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Seleyah In reply to TheFoxyEccentric274 [2009-09-17 00:45:37 +0000 UTC]

I don't believe I have heard of L.A. Meyer. I've not read Rowling's books, though I have seen the movies. I want to read the "Artemis Fowl" series, my younger brother and both my younger sisters have read it and said it was awesome. I haven't read Twilight or any others in the series, but I plan on it.

I think reading always improves grammar skills! It takes more brainpower to read, understand, interpret, envision, and react to what you are reading than it does watching a movie or something like that. Not that I don't like movies, mind you! But reading is more healthy and it exercises your brain. So how old are you?

I LOVE the Inkworld!!! Aaaahhhh!!! I named my cats, Gwin and Jink. Have you read "The Phantom Tollbooth" by Norton Juster, or "A Journey of Souls" by C.D. Baker? Those are both great books!

Other books I like are the "Wrinkle" series by Madeleine L'Engle, most of Frank Peretti's books, Rosemary Sutcliff, Ted Dekker, all of Ann Rinaldi, Gary Paulsen, Jeri Massi (her Dearwood series is awesome, they're kid books but I still love reading them), Scott O'Dell, Jean Craighead George, Francine Rivers, aaaand that's about all I can think of at the time.

If I get around to reading the books you put out, I will definitely tell you what I think. I rarely have time to read anymore due to my job, so instead I listen to audiobooks. Not as nice as real reading, but it works.
